We usually recommend to our guests, if you have more time it’s better to do more than 5 days in Uganda to properly experience the destination at a slow steady space. It gives you more time to experience Uganda beyond the wildlife, you get to spend more days getting a feel of the culture and everyday life of the people in Uganda. Our founder Rita Amanyire spent the weekend participating in Bird Population Monitoring at Sebitoli Visitor’s Centre in Kibale National Park. The exercise was led by the team from Sunbird Hill Uganda,a nature monitoring and rewilding site situated at the edge of Kibale Forest. Two ranger guides from Uganda Wildlife Authority(UWA) also participated in the exercise.It was a great day spent in nature, learning from each other and contributing to the conservation of birds.
In simple terms, Bird Population Monitoring aims at monitoring trends in the population of bird species, the data that we collect during this exercise is used to inform regional and global conservation actions for the protection of birds.
Kibale National Park is known for chimpanzee trekking, bird watching and nature walks. You can read more about the park here - 56africatours.com/kibale-national-park/

Happy #worldelephantday
A day to celebrate these amazing land mammals but to also remember that their habitats and populations are greatly affected currently and we should in each of our capacities work towards protecting elephants.
▫️A small fact about elephants to celebrate World Elephant Day;
Did you know that elephants are mixed feeders? Elephants eat grass when they can get it but also browsing all kinds of trees, bushes,reeds,fruit and bark reaching up to 20 feet to pluck fruit or pull down branches. Some bulls even go the extra mile to push over trees. Such interesting and cool mammals!

Last week I represented 56Africa Tours at an induction training in Kampala, Uganda.The training is part of the official welcome process to the Association of Uganda Tour Operators(AUTO).
The Association of Uganda Tour Operators(AUTO) is the leading umbrella organization for tour operators and we are honored to be part of this body. The organization represents licensed companies that offer professional and reliable tourism services and also brings together destination experts committed to showcasing the beauty of Uganda.
The induction training was a full day activity which was helpful to us all. It was great meeting other industry members and also listening and learning from industry experts who shared without holding back. We had two sessions(morning and afternoon) both aimed at improving our product development and strengthening our service delivery.
