🎹 20+ Years with the Yamaha PSR-640 🎹

Hey everyone! I’m getting ready to review a true legend in my collection—the Yamaha PSR-640.
My father bought this keyboard back around 1999 or 2000. At the time, it was an absolute premium, high-end powerhouse! It even uses floppy disks, which was the cutting-edge technology of that era. 💾
Having played this for over 20 years, I have a lot to say about how it holds up today.

In my upcoming video, I’m going to break down:

* How its build and feature is against current Yamaha models at the similar price point.
* Whether that classic 90s sound quality still beats modern entry-level boards.
* A deep-dive nostalgia trip into how we used to make music back then!

🎵 I’ll also be playing some demo songs during the review! 🎵
Drop a comment below and let me know:

1. What are your thoughts on this classic keyboard?
2. Is there any specific song or style you want me to play in the demo?
3. Have you ever owned or played a PSR-640?

Stay tuned😊

🎶 Why do so few people progress in learning a musical instrument?
Based on my experience, I’ve noticed that out of 100 beginners, only about 10% truly progress beyond the basics. Looking back, I can see why:

Lack of Practice – Consistency matters far more than talent.
Rigid Syllabus – Uninspiring or poorly structured lessons can drain motivation.
Shifting Interests – Many learners discover they’re drawn to a different instrument than the one they started with.
Unrealistic Expectations – expecting fluency in weeks only leads to frustration and dropout.
Lack of Guidance – without structured feedback, it’s easy to get demotivated.

The biggest lesson I’ve taken from this? 🎸 Progress isn’t about natural ability — it’s about discipline, passion, and finding the right fit.
👉 That’s why at Jehnsus Music Institute, the syllabus is customized based on each individual’s interest, ensuring learners stay motivated and connected to the music they truly love.

My Perspective on Adults Learning Music

In my experience, the biggest challenge adults face when learning Musical Instruments isn’t talent—it’s **time**. Students often progress faster simply because they can dedicate more hours to practice.

Music theory makes up only about **20%** of the journey. The remaining **80% is practice**. And practice requires dedication, consistency, and patience.

So,the real difference between fast and slow progress isn’t age—it’s how much time you can commit to practicing, let me know your thoughts.

🎶 What Really Makes a Musical Instrument Expensive?
Most people say it’s about wood and material quality or tonal richness. But I think there’s more to the story and these factors often separate a good instrument from a truly great one:
1️⃣ Playability – Premium instruments feel effortless.
A high-end harmonica is airtight, so no energy is wasted.
A quality guitar has frets that are smooth and easy to press, making long sessions more enjoyable.
2️⃣ Precision – Accuracy across the entire range is critical.
Cheaper guitars may tune well on open strings but lose pitch accuracy in higher octaves.
A quality guitar maintains precise pitch across the fretboard, ensuring consistency in performance same is applicable to other instruments as well.
3️⃣ Weight & Durability – Portability matters.
Professional instruments are often lighter yet more durable, making them easier to carry and play for longer sessions without fatigue.

💡 In My opinion beyond tone and materials, ease of play, precision, and portability are what elevate an instrument from good to exceptional.
What do you think—do these factors resonate with your experience of premium instruments? Comment below—I’d love to hear your perspective.

Mastering the Violin: Fundamentals That Shape Possibilities

🎻 The violin is often considered one of the hardest instruments to master. But here’s the fascinating part: unlike many other instruments, once you learn a single scale finger progression, you can use the same pattern across all 12 scales.

Learning to play a musical instrument isn't just fun, it actually rewires your brain.
Studies show musicians develop stronger neural connections across areas controlling memory, coordination, emotion, and creativity.
The result? Sharper memory, better focus, higher IQ and a brain that becomes more resilient over time.
Next time you think about picking up that guitar or piano, remember: you're not just creating music, you're building a smarter, stronger brain.
Research comparing musicians to non-musicians found that musical training improves working memory, attention span, and cognitive flexibility, demonstrating stronger and more efficient neural networks.
