The Bilby + Ella Show
The Bilby + Ella show is for music creatives, by music creatives. Broadcasting from the heart of Nashville, we dive deep with artists, producers, songwriters, and visionaries who've found their purpose through the creative process. Each conversation reveals the real stories behind the music: the breakthroughs, the setbacks, and the moments of clarity that shape both artistry and life. We chip away at new creative ideas and strategies that push boundaries and spark innovation. This is where creativity meets purpose, and where every story has something to teach.

The Bilby + Ella Show
Every artist has a moment that changes everything. For our guest this week, hers came via a phone call on her 20th birthday. 🎶
This week we sat down with singer-songwriter and artist @Alyssaflahertymusic, who went from cold-emailing Nashville labels at 14 to singing “Amazing Grace” for Kevin Costner’s film Horizon and opening for his band on tour. We got into the real gap she sees in artist development, the pressure to know who you are before the industry bets on you, and why she treats every show like a game she’s trying to win against herself.

The Bilby + Ella Show
Every hit song has a story. So does the guy who spends his career helping songwriters find theirs! 🙌
This week we sat down with the legendary and esteemed Rusty Gaston, CEO of Sony Music Publishing Nashville, who's also known around town as the "Chief Encouragement Officer" for a reason. Rusty's path started as a teenager performing at Six Flags in Texas, took him through 24 years building an independent publishing company, and changed forever the day the worldwide chairman of Sony Music Publishing cold-called him out of nowhere with his biggest gig yet.
We got into the loneliness that can come with leadership, his honest advice for the next generation of songwriters trying to break in, and why he believes no great song gets left behind anymore.

Before he was our guest, he was (and still is) our teammate. This week we sat down with our friend, singer-songwriter, artist, and soccer squad legend, @DylanBradyMusic! 🎶⚽️
We got into the "math" behind writing a hit song, the record he had to write for himself after nearly a decade of writing for everyone else, and a piece of advice from his therapist we haven't stopped thinking about.
