heya, you guys picking anything up on this nintendo sale? i finally got around to grabbing metroid dread myself

this post is a classic case of good news bad news! the good news is, i finally got through the script and it's ready and able to be voiced over by my dulcet tones. i actually finished that in the middle of the week. in terms of the bad news, you may be asking "but tgiraffe, why didnt you start voicing your lines last week then?"

and thats because i was reeeeeally sick

funny enough i dont usually get sick, but i was in bad shape pretty much all weekend. fortunately i started feeling better yesterday, so with any luck ill be able to start VO this week and have it edited down and start the video editing process next week

that is of course unless my vacation disrupts things or a highly anticipated switch 2 game releases on thursday, THAT would really throw a wrench into things...but im committed to getting this VO finally done this week

in terms of what we're covering, this time about 60 unique uma musume will be discussed over a period of a little over 20 years. i dont even WANT to count how many races im gonna be talking about.

as ever, i am shooting for the end of september to release the video but i wouldnt be surprised if it fell into the early october dimension. im also working on a few videos for the end of the year (you know what they are) so im also gonna have to come up with some videos to get through october and november, one of which will almost certainly be another career dive (which channel members can vote on!!!!!!) and the other something short to talk about

heya, what do you think is the best mario kart?? im inclined to say MK8 or MKWii but its been a minute since ive played em

i like asking the hard-hitting questions

so fun little quirk about the script, i found out a few days ago that there was a fundamental problem in my understanding of the topic, so that prompted what is essentially an entire script rewrite. i cant lie to you, that kinda sucked, cuz if youve been following my posts, you'd know this is another massive script. only today did i manage to make it through the halfway point, and i was right around here when i was doing my quality check, so effectively i still have a long road ahead of me.

now with all that said, im still anticipating that at my current pace i should be able to get the script done and be able to start recording VO next week, which is kinda what i was hoping for this week but in the grand scheme of things, that may not have been possible anyway, so what can ya do?!

im not really sure about a release date but i should have a better idea when the VO is edited and i start the editing process so i get a good idea of how i want it to look, and since that isnt starting until at least next week, a september release is looking more and more off the table

which means what the heck am i gonna talk about next week...

oh well!!! happy labor day to anyone who slept in today!!!

heya, please tell me your favorite pokemon game in the replies

i got just about everything done for the script for big video but since it ended up being 50 pages of data and script i decided to take a break from friday til today, so im gonna start the process of going through, adding stuff, and cleaning things up here and there. hopefully, i can get the edits done this week but it's a bit daunting especially with accuracy checks so this might take me a while longer to complete than normal.

if i were to hazard a guess, this is probably gonna end up being another hour-long video. oh boy!!

im gonna see what i can do to get some shorter videos done in the meantime if i think the edits are going to push the video into October, but i'm still hoping for a September release at this point

and thats about all i got goin on for the time being, but i managed to get Efforia in JP in only 20 pulls which goes on to prove my theory that i only get good pull rates when im not recording

heya, im at 37 pages and counting for the new video's script

i guess half of that is data so does it really count?

in any case im currently sitting at around the halfway point which is pretty much where i wanted to be at this time. i think i should be able to get the preliminary script done this week and then go back and review and make edits the following one, which means anything video editing related probably isn't happening until a ways into september.

if anything the research im doing makes me think that any dirt-racing japanese horse not named Forever Young seems criminally underrated

since it's very conceivably likely that the video will take me forever to do, i'll see if i cant sneak in some lighter projects along the way. once this video is out i have to shift focus to another big video idea i had as well as the banner overviews for December so im gonna have to do that anyway, but i think i have a few ideas that should be a little easier on me schedule-wise i can use to fill in gaps if need be. if i can ill try and sneak in another IRL horse video somewhere in there.

also i beat metroid prime 4 this weekend i thought it was ok but i also never understood the main villain's motivations at all, decent game, not so good metroid game

heya, hows your favorite baseball team doing?

channel update update: the VO has been recorded, i just need to set aside time to edit it which i dont anticipate taking very long because it's yknow...a channel update. mine usually aren't very complex.

i havent sat down and got my footage yet but as soon as it's done it'll be uploaded ASAP. i think it should be as early as wednesday, but i'm not terribly sure. it's around six minutes long and will cover the age olde survey questions of yore.

all my other focus is currently on my next big video which currently features a 19-page long table of data. yikes. i started writing the script a bit last week and got through a little chunk, but this video is definitely looking like it'll be at minimum 30 minutes if i keep each segment short as im wont to do. i imagine it blowing past that by some margin but by what margin remains yet unclear. going at my current pace, i imagine i won't be done the script for at least two weeks and that's before i add any flare to it and do any review, so it's pretty much guaranteed for some time in september.

as with many of my videos i expect the editing portion to be the easiest part of this process so i'll have a better idea, as per usual, as i get further along in scriptwriting.

this post is gonna be the exact same next week i can already feel it...

in unrelated news, i was playing mahjong with big meal the other day while we waited for some other friends to show up to play something else and he was like "oh man last turn then" AND THEN WON. HOW UNCOOL IS THAT??? big meal will pay

heya, my goal with my most recent video was to ruin everyone's saturday did it work

i like how that video came out and am particularly proud of the end section. i was a little worried about that part in particular as it was the most important part of the video that i absolutely needed to get right but i think i managed to do a good job with it. these videos are pretty fun to research and make so definitely expect to see more in the future!

that said, the next video will be a channel update going over the results from the fan survey from a while back. im admittedly still stewing on what to do over some aspects of it so it might take me a minute, but in the meantime im doing something questionable: making another video that will take me forever to make!!

this particular video was actually suggested on the aforementioned survey and ive been doing some data collection for it on the side. i think its a pretty interesting topic but it also encompasses over two decades of horse racing so uh, it might take me a while to write a script, which should be the second hardest part of this video

this is all in addition to another very long video i have planned for the end of the year AND the banner overview videos for december so im gonna be busy for a while yet

i expect to get a script done sometime within the next couple weeks and for it to be a video that goes for somewhere in the 45 minute range but obviously ill have a better idea the further i get in the entire process

i ran out of figures for the channel update and my normal recording space is now occupied, gonna have to get creative

heya, this post has CRITICAL TGIMLET GAMER UPDATES if you want to learn about my victories and failures as the worlds foremost gamer

but first, the video. i was trying to take it a little slow this week yet somehow ended up with the first draft being done. how'd that even happen?! im still aiming for this weekend but i need to decide on whether or not i want to change a particular section around any which is probably gonna be the main reason for any delays if any. i'd say for now expect saturday but if not then it should go up sometime in the following week

there's definitely one part that still needs some work and i have to add music but other than that i do think the video is turning out the way i want it to. surprisingly, music may be a more difficult process this video due to thematic reasons.

because i am a wizard i know that we are getting rose kingdom as the first banner after the 6.5th anniversary one of whom i have no idea who it could be (maybe Forever Young? feels more like a 7th anni character tho)

anyway, here is a cool list of awesome "timlet gimlet is a gamer" tidbits!!!!!

-i started metroid prime 4 which doesnt feel like a metroid game at all. i think its funny that the game tells you "u can choose whatever path u wanna go" and then actually sends you in one particular direction because u dont have access to the other paths. why bother?!
-i ALSO tried to start a pokemon platinum living dex but because i didnt try to save over the file that was already on there until 2 hours in i learned the hard way that you have to manually delete the file from the title screen before starting a new game so that was pretty devastating
-my famous friend, andesite block from minecraft, got me into playing mahjong which i have discovered is a game with 3000 ways to win and i dont understand any of them, but i managed to get a higher level win in a round last night which i am the only person to have achieved out of my friend group (do not tell big meal i said this) anyway mahjong is my new obsession
-ive been refreshing my feed all day for MLB trade deadline updates
-hey that isnt a gaming tidbit at all!!!!

but yeah im the greatest gamer to ever do it
