Yesterday I paid about €560 for a 4TB SSD to edit videos on! Insane prices!

I was looking for more RAM too, but seeing €2000 for 128GB scared me away 💀

Will these prices come anytime soon? 🤔

While I was editing this episode I found out the video became too long for 1 episode. So I decided to make 2 separate videos out of it and upload the first part already today :)

Translations should be another step forward. Let me know what your experience was.

About the dubbing translations... As Youtube dubbing tracks are like a lottery, I looked into an alternative :)

Elevenlabs has a new V2 model for translated dubbing. For a 36min video it's about €90 per language, and with their V1 model about €30 per language. These options give the best results. I can try to put something together myself, but the quality will not be as great, and I don't want to delay the next video as well.

So for now I have about 40 languages subtitled. Until the prices come down for dubbing, we need to live with this I think...

The automatic dubbing from Youtube is like a casino. Sometimes it works, sometimes it stays on 'Processing' forever. The support is an AI bot, so I have no human to look into this. I think I need to investigate how to do this myself so I'm no longer dependent on Youtube for this.

Let me hear your thoughts on this: Many of you asked to include more people encounters, and show things of the city and culture.

Yet, when I see what you guys watch and like most, the whole Yakutsk section is skipped until I start driving again. From there on you're all engaged again.

And I know this, that's why it was so hard to start the video with the city and try to keep you guys onboard.

I tried my best to keep this interesting, but the numbers show it's just not resonating as much as the driving itself.

Any thoughts on this?
