Ch-a Mosley - Pregnancy Over Forty
I want to talk to the woman who is 45 and still single and still hoping and feels like she can't say that out loud without being judged.
You can say it here.
I was 44 and single. No man. No baby. Watching my friends' kids go off to college.
Watching my siblings' kids grow up. Watching the world move forward while I sat with a life that hadn't quite assembled itself into the shape I had imagined.
I know that feeling. I know it intimately.
And I want to tell you something that took me longer than it should have to fully believe.
You are valuable regardless of whether you have a man. Regardless of whether you have a baby. Regardless of whether your life looks anything like what you planned. Your value is not contingent on your relationship status or your fertility journey or any of the external markers that society uses to measure a woman's worth.
But here is the part that requires something from you.
You have to recognize it yourself first.
Good men exist. I know because I found one. I know because I have male friends who waited for the right woman and found her and are faithfully building beautiful lives. I know because love after 40 is not the exception — it is simply a different timeline.
But the right person cannot find their way to a woman who has decided she is not worth finding.
How you treat yourself through your own hard times tells you everything about what you believe you deserve. The walks you take. The friends you keep. The way you speak about your own life. The standards you hold even when holding them is lonely.
Believing you are worth it is not arrogance. It is the foundation that everything else gets built on.
You are not too old. You are not too late. You are not too anything.
You are exactly enough. Right now. Exactly as you are.

My best years are happening right now.
Right now at 50 chasing a toddler and living more fully than I ever have.
I'm Ch-a Mosley — first time mom at 47 and I did not miss anything.
I lived fully before my daughter arrived and I am living even more fully now that she is here.
There is no version of this story where I missed my best years.
They are unfolding in real time.

Ch-a Mosley - Pregnancy Over Forty
I need to tell you about the time I almost stopped showing up.
I started creating content by accident. I was 46 and pregnant and scared and I decided that being scared felt like rooting against my own baby. So I started talking about my pregnancy openly. Broadly. Just sharing what I was going through.
People started paying attention.
And then I made a mistake. I started studying other content creators.
They were all so polished. Beautiful kitchens. Perfect lighting. Lashes for days.
Everything looked so curated and intentional and aspirational. And I looked around at my very middle class, very average looking space and I almost stopped.
Let me give you some context for why that comparison hit so hard.
I grew up with everything. My father was Roger Mosley — TC from the original Magnum P.I. I grew up in a Rolls-Royce. I have been to the kind of events that Robin Leach used to cover on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I have met more celebrities than I can count. Fancy was my baseline growing up.
And somewhere in my adult life I landed in a very comfortable, very real, very middle class existence. And I love my life. But stacked against the highlight reels of other content creators it suddenly looked like not enough.
So I almost stopped.
And here is what I want you to sit with.
There are women who are not sitting at home holding their babies right now — who could be — if I had caved into comparison. My story, told from my real life in my real space, has reached women who needed exactly what I had to offer. Not a perfect kitchen. Not designer lashes. Just truth.
Each of us has something real and irreplaceable to offer. Comparison doesn't just steal your joy. It steals your impact. It silences the voice that someone somewhere desperately needs to hear.
Don't let it silence yours.

Pregnancy does something to you that no one can adequately prepare you for.
It connects you to something ancient and powerful inside yourself.
I'm Ch-a Mosley — I conceived naturally at 46 and spent the next nine months in complete awe of what my body was capable of.
Every woman deserves to know that feeling.
Don't let anyone talk you out of it before you've had the chance to experience it for yourself.

Ch-a Mosley - Pregnancy Over Forty
In July of 2022 my father was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
You may know him. TC from the original Magnum P.I. Roger Mosley. A man who at 83 was still coaching high school track, still lifting weights, still giving himself to his community the way he always had. Healthy. Hearty. Present.
Nine days after that accident he was gone.
I want to talk about how I got myself through it. Not because I want credit for surviving.
But because I think the way we move through our hardest moments matters enormously — for our health, our hormones, our hope and our future.
Here is what I did
.
I surrounded myself with friends who were emotionally available. People who could sit with me in the grief and still make me laugh. That combination — being held AND being lightened — is underrated medicine.
I walked. A lot. Long walks became my processing time. My way of staying in my body when everything in me wanted to check out.
I protected my sleep as fiercely as I could. When you are in and out of hospitals, getting calls at 3 and 4am from a parent who is scared and angry and suffering, sleep becomes a radical act of self preservation.
I leaned on my supplements. Not as a replacement for grief but as support for my nervous system while I was in it.
And I made a quiet commitment to myself. I was not going to let this break me permanently. I was going to feel it fully and I was going to keep walking.
Six weeks after my father passed I conceived my daughter. Naturally. At 46.
I don't think that is a coincidence. I think the way I chose to move through the hardest season of my life kept my body and my mind intact enough to receive the greatest blessing of my life.
Nothing but death will bring me to my knees permanently. And even then I believe that if I still have breath I will eventually get up and start walking again.
Your life has purpose until your very end. How you move through the hard parts determines the quality of life you have for as long as you have it.
Keep walking.

I am about to tell you something I don't talk about very much.
And I'm telling you because I think you need to hear it.
I had a two month COVID romance that I am still somewhat embarrassed about. Not because I did anything wrong. But because of how completely it blindsided me.
He was someone I had known years before. He came back into town looking like new money. Polished. Confident. And apparently I was the one he had always wanted. He came after me hard and fast and honestly it felt like a movie. The timing. The history.
The energy. All of it.
And then COVID hit.
He lost his job. Things stopped going his way. And whatever was holding him together on the inside just quietly crumbled. And then one day — he was gone. Left town. Disconnected his number.
Not blocked me. Disconnected his entire number.
I was paralyzed. I was embarrassed. I was 41 or 42 years old and I could not believe that this had happened to me. When he eventually got a new phone and reached out I still tried. A little bit. Out of something that felt uncomfortably close to desperation. And then he got upset about something and changed his number again.
Who changes their whole number twice?
I'll tell you who. Someone who is not your person. That's who.
I share this because I want you to know that embarrassing chapters happen to all of us. Even the ones who look like they have it together. Even the ones who grew up with everything. My father was TC from the original Magnum P.I. I have been to events that Robin Leach would have covered. I have met everyone you would ever want to meet.
And I still found myself sitting with a disconnected number and a bruised ego at 42.
What got me through it was simple. A good girlfriend who walked with me. Literally. Miles of walks. She didn't trash talk him. She didn't insert her opinions. She just showed up and made herself available. And slowly I got myself through it.
The embarrassing chapters are not the end of your story. They are just chapters.
And sometimes the most humbling moments are the ones that finally get you ready for what's coming next.

He was a good man.
Genuinely.
Kind, honest, fun.
But good is not the same as right.
He told me from the beginning he didn't want marriage or children.
And I stayed because fear of time made me rationalize what I actually knew.
Good men who want different things are still the wrong men for you.
I'm Ch-a Mosley — I waited for the right one and became a first time mom at 47 naturally.
Don't confuse good with aligned.

I need to say something that I don't think gets said enough.
Stop calling your life a failure.
I received a comment recently from a woman who described her marriage as a failure, her fertility journey as a failure and her prior engagement as a failure. All in one paragraph - in writing.
I believe deeply in the power of the pen. What you write down, what you say out loud, what you repeat to yourself in the quiet moments — it shapes the story you are living.
And if you are narrating your life as a series of failures you will keep finding evidence to support that story.
Here is what I know to be true.
I was 44 years old and single. No man. No baby. No timeline that looked anything like what I had planned. By society's measure I was behind.
But I wasn’t.
At 44 I met my fiancé. At 46 I conceived naturally. At 47 I became a first time mom.
None of the hard chapters before that were failures. They were the story. My story. And every single one of them brought me to exactly where I needed to be.
I also want to say this clearly.
Life is not easy for anybody all the time. Everybody hits a roadblock that could be considered embarrassing. A relationship that didn't work. A fertility journey that took longer than expected. A dream that got delayed. We just don't always talk about it.
Social media shows us the highlight reel and we measure our behind the scenes against everyone else's best moments and we wonder what is wrong with us.
Nothing is wrong with you.
How you see yourself through the hard chapters determines how fast you get through them. And how you talk about your life matters more than anything anyone else could ever say about it.
You are not behind. You are not a failure. You are in the middle of your story.
And the middle is not the end.
Visit 𝘸𝘸𝘸.𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘺𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘺.𝘤𝘰𝘮 — because every woman on this journey deserves encouragement, resources and a place that reminds her that it is not too late.

I am not hustling to prove myself.
I am not climbing any ladders.
I am not figuring out who I am.
I already know. And that knowing makes me a different kind of mother.
Patient.
Present.
Clear on what matters.
I'm Ch-a Mosley, first time mom at 47.
There are gifts that come with being an older mom that nobody talks about enough.
This is one of them.
