I met him at 44 and our connection was immediate. We enjoyed eachother immensely and talked openly about having a baby.

When we conceived at 45, I was honestly scared to be excited. I just knew I would lose the baby because of my age (thanks to Google). At 6 weeks I had a loss. 😔

He never blamed me or made me feel bad😔 .

And my doctor said something I still carry: the fact that you could get pregnant at your age is a GOOD sign, I think you can do it again 🥰.

😍Ten months later, I learned she was right.

If you have fibroids, you know the worry. Will they keep you from getting pregnant? Will you end up needing surgery? Will anyone actually explain what is going on in your body?

Fibroids were not a part of my journey, but for so many women they are, and I understand that worry.

That is why I interviewed Tina Marie Fuller, fibroid coach and womb wellness advocate. Three things she shared:

• Stress comes first. Fibroids are a hormonal issue, and before any diet overhaul, Tina says check your stress, because high stress alone can throw your hormones out of balance.
• Do not assume estrogen dominance. Social media says fibroids mean high estrogen, but Tina had a large fibroid while her estrogen was too low, and she has seen the same in her clients. Get labs before chasing a problem you may not have.
• She shrank her own without surgery. Tina eliminated 6 of her own fibroids through lifestyle and nutrition, after a doctor pointed her toward stress, trauma, and diet instead of pushing surgery.

People ask me if I'm tired. I'm 50 with a 3-year-old, and honestly, I feel good. I took care of myself along the way, and physically, I kept myself fertile.

Here's what nobody tells you about becoming a mom later. The patience. I spent my younger years building my life, my peace, my career. Now I have this excess store of patience, and it all belongs to her. She has my attention. She has my patience. She has my time.

There are benefits to every season, and I'm thoroughly enjoying mine.
