The loquacious lunatic

I watch media and talk a lot about it. My doctor says I should stop, the voices in my head tell me he's worried about nothing.
So join me as I dive deep into the writing, acting, production and overall quality (or lack of in some cases) of various films and tv shows in a sometimes unhinged, often sarcastic but always honest series of reviews.

The loquacious lunatic

Remember when Boba Fett was the most feared, silent, and cold-blooded bounty hunter in the galaxy? Well, Disney didn't.
Instead, we were treated to seven episodes (or five) of an overly polite, completely clueless retiree who spends half his time taking baths and the other half getting hijacked out of his own series by Pedro Pascal.
So roll up your sleeves and prepare for a joke that completely forgot its own punchline.

I planned to have my next video out by Monday, but for the first time in my life im actually ahead of schedule, with the weekend looking more likely.
I wont say just yet what the video will be about, but honestly the sheer elation of being early has got me feeling like, well...

Avatar is a genuine masterpiece, not the movie, not the Netflix show and not those smurf pricks, the original airbender.
Its nice to do a positive video from time to time even if it does go against the brand, and this one reminded me that deep down in this cold cynical exterior there is a heart.

The Mandalorian. It Fooled Us Into Thinking It Was Good

Season 1 and 2 felt like Star Wars was back. However rewatching them and it’s slow walking, filler side quests, Merch Goblin, and the blueprint for every hollow Disney+ show that followed.

A false good start which gave Disney the blueprint for all their Star Wars shows, except Andor which escaped.

It's finally over. The sequel trilogy is complete.

Rise of Skywalker got the full 50-minute treatment. From fetch quests and lazy retcons all the way to space horses; the lot.

Theatrical run: Finished
Disney+ shows: Let me top up on booze first then I'll get to those.

If the films did this to me, the shows might finish the job.

A new autopsy is up.

A few months ago I was rewatching Cowboy Bebop and my brain, unprompted and unmedicated, dragged me back to Netflix’s 2021 live-action disaster, the one that caused many viewers to die of cringe.

So I’m honouring the fallen with a full breakdown of why Netflix Bebop failed so spectacularly.

Serious question here.

Lion King, Little Mermaid, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Snow White — which live action remake is the worst?

Making this one left me with mixed feelings.
Plus side: I rewatched a pile of classic animated Disney.
Minus side: I rewatched a pile of live action remakes.

Well its done.
Turns out having to rewatch Indiana Jones Dial Of Destiny TWICE is an occupational hazard of the job, but its finished now and I made a complete recovery.

I had hoped to release my next video by Monday, but unfortunately I've been sick and my writing has somewhat suffered. Seriously, I wrote the same sentence 4 times before I realised it was like the papers from The Shining.
I should have the video completed within a week or so. Until then, here's a panda.
