Star Trek Online has posted a survey about what you want to see in game's future. These are ideas for pretty far ahead into STO's future, so don't expect to see anything on any of these topics right away. This survey is, for now, just Cryptic gauging player interest around certain ideas to give them an idea where to prioritize. It's really short, shouldn't take you long to fill out, so click the link and tell Cryptic what idea that could possibly be added in the game's future you're most interested.
Update for those who already watched the video about the Rediscovered Mini-Bundle: Now that it's live, I have the Mini-Bundle and can actually see the full tooltip on the Captain Spock holo-boff's unique boff space trait, Logical Calculus, and it's actually really good:
An SRO only gets +2% Crit Chance, +5% Severity, and +15% Recharge Speed for Cloaking. So, Holo-Captain Spock is actually slightly better than an SRO! Though you can only have one of him, so at best, he's only going to replace on of your SROs.
If you bought the Mini-Bundle, remember, you can claim its items in the Zen Store > Items > Promotion Unlock Items
Unfortunately, it appears that neither of the holo-Spock boffs can be claimed by KDF or KDF allied toons, so they're still stuck with Watchers and SROs.
PC Players! Star Trek Online is doing giveaways every day leading up to the Rediscovered update. Today's is a set of 5 Master Keys (claimable on a single character), which can be found in the Promotions tab of the Zen Store. Get them while you can, because they'll be replaced with something new every day up through September 23.
Console players, you know the routine, you'll get these in November the week before Rediscovered goes live for you guys.
In case you missed it, Star Trek Online is giving away the Platinum Pack for free in the Promotions Tab of the Zen Store. This includes the Platinum Vanity Shield, Platinum Phaser Sniper Rifle, and Platinum Tardigrade non-combat pet. These items were previously given out for Crytpic's 20th Anniversary, but they've brought them back for Star Trek's 60th. These are live on all three platforms, so grab them while you can if you didn't get them the first time!
Because of the Strange New World season premier, Star Trek Online has brought back the Starfleet 2259 uniform! Pick it up for FREE from the Promotions tab of the Zen Store, but be quick, because it's only there for a week.
I cancelled my subscription to Fanhome's Star Trek Official Starships Collection today.
They announced the next wave of ships in the collections a while back and I was pretty unimpressed with them. I was hoping they'd finally release models of ships like Gagarin, Reliant, Sutherland, and Ross. But instead they're doing the Synth ship from Picard, the Galileo Shuttle from SNW, and a bunch of other ships that I just don't care enough about to keep spending that kind of money every month.
Another factor in this decision was the unboxing/review series I've been doing on Fanhome's Starships Collections; it hasn't done as well as I'd hoped. A couple of those videos did rather well, but most didn't. So if I don't want the upcoming ship models and you guys aren't watching the videos on them, there's no point in continuing.
To the few of you who were watching those videos, I'm happy you stuck with me on them for as long as you did. Collecting model ships has been a hobby of mine for a long time and it was fun to indulge in that on the channel.
