🚨 CASE BREAKDOWN: THE KELSIE COTE CASE

This is a case we may be following next.

WHO IS KELSIE COTE?

Kelsie Cote is accused of murdering her 74-year-old grandmother, Doris Cote, inside Doris’s North Adams, Massachusetts home around Halloween night in 2022.

Cote has pleaded NOT GUILTY.

⚖️ WHAT PROSECUTORS ALLEGE

Prosecutors allege Doris was attacked with scissors and a paperweight and that evidence was later cleaned or concealed. Investigators also focused on the fact that Kelsie was reportedly the last known person to see Doris alive.

💰 THE $1 MILLION QUESTION

One of the biggest pieces of this case involves Doris Cote’s estate.

Court records reported on by local media showed that Doris’s will named Kelsie as an heir to more than $1 million. Prosecutors have examined a possible financial motive, although these remain allegations that have not been proven at trial.

⏰ THE TIMELINE

Kelsie reportedly told investigators she found Doris at the bottom of the basement stairs around 10:00 AM on November 1, 2022, but authorities were not called until approximately 4:00 PM.

Police also reported that Kelsie acknowledged cleaning portions of the scene after finding her grandmother.

👀 AND HERE’S WHY THIS CASE IS GETTING ATTENTION NOW…

Kelsie Cote’s defense attorney is Kevin Reddington — Lindsay Clancy’s attorney.

Reddington recently confirmed that Cote is one of his upcoming murder cases following the Clancy proceedings.

The case is still in the pretrial stage and there is NO murder trial date yet. A suppression-related hearing has been reported for September 28, 2026.
