Search-and-rescue operations were immediately activated, but no survivors have been found.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared three days of national mourning following the tragedy and directed that flags be flown at half-mast across the country in honour of those who died.
âBehind every uniform is a family,â Tinubu said, offering condolences to the spouses, children, parents, siblings, and loved ones left behind. The president also directed the Nigerian Air Force to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash, saying the aim was to prevent similar incidents in the future. âWe honour their service. We remember their sacrifice,â Tinubu said.
