Starlink Mobile: a spectrum deal isn’t a reason to cancel your phone plan.

SpaceX’s latest airwaves purchase moves its mobile network ambitions forward. But owning spectrum and delivering a replacement for your everyday carrier are different milestones.

Before paying for satellite phone connectivity, check:

📱 Your exact phone’s eligibility.
💬 Which apps and features actually work.
🌤️ Your plan, coverage and clear-sky requirements.

T-Mobile’s existing T-Satellite supports texting and selected satellite-ready apps on compatible devices. Speeds are limited, and service can be delayed or unavailable.

Why does this matter as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and SpaceX compete? Our dedicated video explains the carrier alliance and Starlink Mobile’s place in the picture:

What would matter most to you: fewer dead zones, reliable calls or a lower monthly bill?

How did Tesla’s Roadster stay on that ramp? The answer isn’t just “rockets.” 🚗

The October 15 Tesla Roadster demonstration combined different systems for different jobs:

🌀 Suction underneath helped hold the tires against the ramp.
💨 Compressed-air thrusters provided the push for airborne maneuvers.
🎮 Remote control kept a driver out of the stunt car.

The key distinction: holding a car against a surface and lifting it off that surface are two different engineering problems. Neither, by itself, proves a practical flying car is ready for everyday travel.

Which part deserves a closer breakdown: the suction system or the SpaceX-derived air thrusters?

Tesla’s new Roadster left the ground. But did the October 15 reveal prove that everyday flying cars are here?

Three details matter beyond the spectacular footage:

• Nobody was inside. The stunt car was remotely operated.
• A brief airborne hop is different from sustained flight.
• A reservation is not a finished car, a final price or a guaranteed delivery date.

The Tesla Roadster and SpaceX thruster demonstration was an engineering spectacle. The useful question is what it demonstrated, and what still needs proving before customers can use it.

Which matters most to you: safety, road legality or the final cost?

We went through all of those details in our video here: https://youtu.be/WD4blhz1w3o

What matters most when pricing a Starlink Mini?

🌳 A cheaper Starlink Mini won’t fix a blocked view of the sky.

Before spending $149 on the kit, try this check before buying:

1️⃣ Open the Starlink app.
2️⃣ Select “Check for Obstructions.”
3️⃣ Scan from the planned dish location, where safely accessible.

Branches, rooflines and other obstacles can interrupt the satellite connection. Scan another suitable spot if the first looks obstructed. The scan helps assess placement; it doesn’t guarantee uninterrupted service.

For rural internet or a cabin connection, check the location before choosing the hardware.

▶️ Our video, “Will Starlink Actually Work at Your House?”, walks through the checklist:

The video discusses Standard hardware pricing. This post’s $149 figure is the US Mini kit offer checked October 14, with service, shipping and tax extra.

What’s above your planned spot: open sky, trees or a roofline?

📡 Starlink Mini at $149: buy now or wait for the next generation?

The lower US kit price makes portable internet more tempting. But a discount alone doesn’t tell you whether to buy, and Mini 2 leaks don’t establish a launch date.

Before deciding, ask:
✅ Do you need connectivity for an upcoming trip?
✅ Have you budgeted for service, power and accessories?
✅ Are you waiting for a confirmed feature or a reported possibility?

Our video explores the Mini 2 reports, the tradeoffs and the honest buy-or-wait decision:

Price update: the current Mini kit showed $149 on Starlink’s US order page on October 14. Service, shipping and tax are extra. Check your address before ordering.

Would you buy for your next road trip, or keep waiting?
