McNichols Polishing & Anodizing completed another trim restoration for me for granddads Malibu. It’s noticeable and it goes so well with the fresh paint. It’s starting to look like a car again but better than before. #Baggsonthego

Time to fall back into the rhythm of piecing Granddad’s Malibu together. I’ve been waiting to get back at it, and I can’t wait to see everything start coming together piece by piece.
A new season, a new stage of the build. Welcome to fall — it’s time to get back to work on Granddad’s Malibu. #Baggsonthego

Just moving a few things around in the shop and making room to get some work done. Granddad’s Malibu is up on the lift and back in the rotation. Always something going on in here, and that’s exactly how I like it. #Baggsonthego #78Malibu

I was headed to 13 Mile and Woodward to start my shift at Memorial Park, parking cars, when a news reporter spotted my GMC cruising down Woodward. He followed me into the park and asked if I’d be interested in doing an interview. Definitely wasn’t expecting that when I left the house that morning. #Baggsonthego

It’s not just a hobby for me. It’s my passion. I enjoy the whole process—building, fixing, learning, and driving. Some days it’ll test your patience, but when you truly love what you’re doing, you keep going no matter how long it takes.

The engine is officially HOME and sitting in Granddad’s Malibu. After all the parts, measuring, second-guessing, converter seating, flexplate work, mounts, and getting everything lined up — seeing that LS finally in the engine bay has to feel good. #Baggsonthego #78Malibu

Countless hours of wet sanding and polishing have finally paid off. Seeing Granddad’s Malibu come back to life makes every minute worth it.
The shine wasn’t created overnight it came from patience, precision, and refusing to rush the process. Every panel tells the story of the work that went into it.

Best Project 🏆
The 9th Annual @gbodyclassic was definitely one to remember. I hauled Granddad’s 1978 Malibu to the show, even though it’s still a work in progress.
I’ve put countless hours into this build, and while it’s far from finished—no engine, no transmission, and plenty of small details still left to complete—I was determined to have it there. One milestone I was proud of was finally getting the interior installed before the show.
It wasn’t easy deciding how much of the car to assemble just to display it, but in the end, I’m glad I did. Seeing people stop, check it out, and appreciate the progress reminded me that every late night and every hour invested is worth it.
This is more than just a project car—it’s Granddad’s legacy, and we’re getting one step closer to bringing it back to life. Stay tuned… the best is yet to come. 🫡

A fresh coat of satin black covered up the overspray from the body shop, and I can finally say it’s starting to look like it once did. Every little detail brings Granddad’s Malibu one step closer to the vision. We’re getting there. #BaggsOnTheGo #GranddadsMalibu
