hi guys! heres a mock cover i made if i were to make a comic of my feathertail au. the thought of making my au a comic has definitely crossed my mind. it would be a great way to tell the story in its entirety without having to animate the whole thing.
the main thing deterring me from this is that comics take time, a lot of it. im a college student so it would be difficult to keep up with a consistent comic. with that, to be blunt, art is a big source of income for me. i do rely on ychs and commissions to support me through college. i have rent and bills to pay, so right now i couldnt fully commit to a comic if it meant losing a large source if income (focusing on the comic would mean less focus on ychs/comms). once i graduate and have a job in my field, i should be in a great spot financially…but that is not for another 2 years. if i did do the comic with a consistent schedule, i would have to open a patreon.
ive also had suggestions to make my idea into a wattpad/ao3 story. while that would theoretically be quicker than a comic, i like to draw! i would want to tell the story visually. so im not sure you guys. thats where i am now. maybe things will change in the future.
