Enjoyed my recent video about fantasy religion? Well, to honor the gods of self-promotion, I thought I'd mention that I created 21 detailed, lore-rich temples, ready to be dropped into your own TTRPG worlds, all in one PDF! You can grab 'Tome of Temples,' along with 2000+ pages of my original TTRPG content, at the link below.
Over on Patreon this month, I posted two new D&D side quests! First we have "Grogan's Mill," an adventure that takes one-to-two sessions to complete and sees your players facing off against a corrupt businessman and his thugs in a tense showdown.
Then there's "Honest Work," in which the party digs up a coffin in a ghost-ridden graveyard, battles angry spirits, and decides the fate of a corrupt local priest (across the course of one busy session).
I really like how different the tone is with these two: from folk fantasy to gothic horror. But we're just warming up, and I'm excited to unleash some much bigger projects in November. Stay tuned x
As foreshadowed in last week's session, I'm going to postpone our usual Tuesday stream to tomorrow (Wednesday 28th), at the usual time (5pm ET, 10pm GMT). Wrapping up another Patreon piece tonight, but hopefully I will see some of you folks tomorrow evening!
Today, we're talking about magic in fantasy world building. I'm a big fan of soft magic systems, but in this video, I try to define a third option between hard and soft that I think is my ideal approach.
Folks, we got a new video! Add these four essential qualities to the religions in your fantasy worlds and I think you'll find that they feel much more real and historically authentic.
This Saturday (September 12th) I'm uploading my next video! In this one, we're talking about creating FANTASY FACTIONS, and the seven mistakes that can make them feel a bit flat and unrealistic.
My patrons just got a 20-page dungeon PDF inspired by the Mines of Moria! It takes around three sessions to complete and involves epic battles, high-stakes puzzles, beautiful battle-maps, and a lot of Lord of the Rings references. I'm really proud of this one, and delighted to finally see it go live!
