I finally ordered a cybertruck. Funny story…

3 months ago I swore off Tesla.
Then we walked into a Tesla store at the mall and hit them with every objection we could think of (me and my wife)
A few days later we ordered a Model Y 😝

Then I launched this YouTube channel. With one video…
“I hated Tesla, now I own one”
And it’s been fun making videos showing my experience as someone who’s been in the car industry for 20 years.

Then I borrowed a friends cybertruck to film some videos. I fell in love. Not with the looks, with everything else. And face it, I’m an odd looking guy, so having an odd looking truck fits me well.
I have mentioned how I want one in so many videos and the comments keep telling me to just do it.

But my daughter is getting her permit next month and my wife loves the Model Y… so we ordered a Model 3.
Thinking I’ll just wait. When it makes sense. When the wait time isn’t months. I haven’t golfed in like 3 years, use to be a good golfer, even have 2 hole in ones… but I met some friends and the only parking spot for my big Yukon was next to a cybertruck and I took this pic, sent to my wife and said “destiny”.

Yesterday I wanted to try to talk to someone at Tesla about my referrals. I hit the 10 cap in like 2 weeks after posting my first video. So I was hoping to talk to someone about increasing that or finding some way to work together. While on the phone I mentioned that I bought the Y, ordered a 3, and would love to order a cybertruck.. but don’t want to wait til the end of the year to pick it up. Then she said the best part. 🤯

The way I wanted it was only a 2-3 week wait.
So I gave her my CC and ordered it on the spot.

And that’s the story of how I ordered a cybertruck 😎

Last week I was serving the youth as a Camp Counselor…

I wasn’t able to put my all into a full length video, but wanted to.
Serving the kids, experiencing the power of Jesus and His love in these kids lives was more important. It’s most important to me.

That work never ends and it’s what I live for. But I also love making videos. So today I out the finishing touches on a video I think will make people stop and think…

Is Tesla FSD killing the need for performance cars?

If we haven’t met, my names David.
David Maus Jr (DMJR for short)

I’m a 37 year old father of 4 who’s been married since I was 21.
I grew up in the car business. Started my career at 15 years old stocking parts. As I grew up I moved into every position in the car business from detail to sales, parts to service, body shop to lot porting, finance to general manager, and finally as Vice president of a 4 franchise dealership group. (Maus Family Automotive).

But something happened right before I turned 35.

I felt depressed. Down. Upset with my day to day leaving my family before they were awake and coming home when they were already asleep.

So I quit.
On my 35th bday.

Left it all behind and focused on my health.
My mental and physical health.
Became the healthiest version of myself I’ve ever known, and most involved husband and father I can be.

I wanted to be present for my family even if that meant losing everything. But God.

God had other plans.
At the time I was published a video here and there on my main channel (now DMJR HEALTH) and quickly it started to grow.
To the point where making content is my full time job.

But why didn’t I do anything in the car biz before?
Well, my dad.

My dad was the OG.
It was his company.
He had the name. The branding. And if you ask him, he built the Maus legacy in the car biz, and I didn’t want to compete with him in that. So I stayed far away. Until this year.

To my knowledge, he’s no longer in the business.
And that gave me the idea.

Ok, I have 20 years of experience. I know YouTube. I know how to walk around a car. I’m a consumer. Why would I not share?
So I did. About 10 days ago I published my first video.

And since then my passion for auto has began to shine again.
I love this. I love this channel. I love this new community. And I’m here for the long haul if you’ll have me.
