One of Casio's most recognisable watches has a mystery hiding in plain sight.

The legendary MDV-106 Duro has a little Marlin on its dial.

The MDV-107? The fish has vanished.

And according to the internet, everybody seems to know why.

When I started digging into the actual trademark records, the familiar explanation began to fall apart. 👀
