Hey Everyone,
I recently got asked why I stand/stay on certain soft hands, specifically soft 17s.
This is a great question!
It really depends on the situation and how the cards are playing out, and that is when I make my decision for those “highly debatable” soft 17s!
What we do know about these soft 17s, no matter what top card the dealer has:
🍀 There’s 4 cards in the deck to improve a soft 17 hand.
🍀 There’s 4 cards that keep your soft 17 the same. This is all the 10 valued cards in the deck which also means if you take a 10, dealer could have taken it instead and would have bust, depending on their hand.
🍀 There are 5 cards in the deck that make it a worst hand, and now you will still need to risk another card and not bust, to win against the dealer.
I hope that helps everyone understand a bit more!
