I’m Paul and I live on the west coast of Scotland so you’ll see Calmac ferries every now and again.
Most of my travels are in and around Scotland but I do occasionally venture further afield. Nothing too far for now, but you never know.
I’ve travelled all my life and always enjoyed the experiences so thought I’d give creating videos a go. In many ways it’s the getting somewhere I’ve liked the most, so, whether it’s a train, bus or ferry or the occasional bit of driving, I’ll record it the best I can.
I haven’t flown in the past 10 years for no other reason than I haven’t needed to. If it changes I’ll be sure to take some video.
As the old saying goes, it’s about enjoying the journey just as much as the destination.

Yesterday was 2 years since my first video went live on the channel and now I see my top performing video has hit 1000 hours of watch time. I have to admit to being utterly amazed at this and still wonder why it’s done so well and seems to keep getting watched. Thank you to everyone who’s watched it, I really do appreciate it 🙏

This Sunday it’ll be exactly two years since my first video on the channel went live. It was just over three minutes long and featured Calmac’s MV Loch Frisa going from Oban to Craignure.
As a way of celebrating the occasion this week’s video will also be Oban to Craignure but is on MV Isle of Mull.
As usual, 11am Sunday.

Well this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. The channel has been accepted onto YouTube’s Partner Program. Was a lot quicker than I thought it would be to be honest. Onwards and upwards I guess.

You won’t be surprised at my form of transport for this Sunday’s video, although it nearly didn’t happen!

Well I’ve applied for YouTube’s Partner Program as that seems to be what people do. Had to set up a Google Adsense account which is currently being “processed”. Could take up to 3 weeks apparently. Then YouTube checks to see if the channel is eligible. I’m pretty sure it is, for the lower level at least (min of 500 subscribers).
Will see what happens next 🤞

Another non traveling week coming up but aiming to get caught up on editing after our week away on the east coast. Managed to get in some interesting little trips too.

If all goes to plan, i.e. I get the editing finished in time, Sunday’s video will be about the Spanish galleon that visited Tobermory recently.

It might seem pretty insignificant compared to many channels but hitting 600 subscribers feels like a pretty good milestone to me.
