The #EBONYPower100 list just dropped and I’m incredibly grateful to be included. Thank you to @ebonymagazine for recognizing me as part of this year’s Media Mavens category.
This year’s theme is “The Stories We Shape,” which makes this one feel especially meaningful. I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of my adult life telling stories, and even luckier that so many of you continue to show up to hear them.
Thank you, Friends, for giving me the space to do this work and for continuing to come along for the ride. And a huge congratulations to everyone else being honored this year. I’m grateful to be in such great company.

This weekend we got to spend four shows with 14,000 Friends at the largest venue I’ve ever headlined. DAR Constitution Hall
I’ll be honest, I was nervous. And the nerves never really went away. This was a big one for us. But every single show was so warm, so loud, and so full of love that y’all made those nerves a whole lot easier.
I also learned a lot this weekend. Performing in a room that size taught me lessons that I know I’ll carry with me going forward, and I’m grateful that I got to experience that in front of such great Friends.
Thank you to every Friend who came out and spent part of their weekend with us. Thank you for making DC’s Comedy Band Camp visit so much fun. We’re going to remember this one for a long time.
Seattle! New Orleans! Wilmington Delaware! We just added new shows in all of these cities and tickets are available now for Comedy Band Camp. If you want to come to a show grab tickets now before they’re gone Friends.
DC Friends, an important update about Sunday’s Field Day at Anacostia Park.
Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Field Day this Sunday.
We’ve been working on this for months and we’re really looking forward to spending the day with all of you.
A huge thank you to Creative Netwerk and everyone who put so much time and work into helping us build this day for DC.
By making the decision now, we’re able to recoup some of the money we put down for the event, and we’ll be donating those funds to local charities and organizations in DC so that money can still go back into the community we wanted to celebrate.
Tonight and Saturday’s shows at DAR Constitution Hall are still happening as scheduled. Luckily, we’ll be indoors.
Thank you for understanding, Friends. DC, I’ll see you tonight.
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to perform three shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, and it just so happened that we were there on Dolly Parton Day.
A few different things happened throughout the weekend that really touched me and made me think about what it means to leave something behind that is bigger than yourself. Because of that, I decided to dedicate the end of this set to Dolly, who she is, what she has represented throughout her life, and what she has meant not only to me, but to so many people.
There are certain people whose impact is almost impossible to measure because it reaches so far beyond the thing they are famous for. Dolly is obviously one of the greatest entertainers we have ever had, but her generosity, kindness, humor, humanity, and the way she has used her success to help other people are just as much a part of her legacy as the music.
Getting to talk about that on Dolly Parton Day, standing on the stage at the Ryman, felt incredibly special.
Nashville is a special place. The Ryman is a special place. There is so much history in that room, and you can feel it when you walk onto that stage. Every once in a while, you get a night where the place you are, the people in the room, and the things happening around you all come together in a way you couldn’t have planned.
This felt like one of those weekends.
I’m really grateful that we get to capture these moments and share them with all of you every week. Tonight’s set was a ton of fun, but it also gave me a chance to talk about gratitude, legacy, and what we choose to do with whatever opportunities we’re fortunate enough to receive.
This set is special to me, and I hope all of you are able to watch it tonight here on my YouTube channel at 9 PM Eastern when it live premieres.
I hope, even through a screen, you can feel a little bit of the magic I felt being there this weekend.
Maria Bamford has been one of my favorite comedians for probably 20 years now. There is no one like her, and there will never be another like her. So creative and vulnerable all while being so silly and relatable.
Judd Apatow took the time to make a documentary about her life and career, and I am so grateful that he did. It comes out October 23rd on Netflix and y’all should absolutely watch it.
And while you’re at it, go back and watch any of the many hours and half hours Maria has released over her almost 40 years performing stand up. And if you ever get the chance, go see her perform live. She is truly one of a kind.
Sunday, October 4 from 12 to 4 PM at Anacostia Park Field 7 in DC and it’s completely FREE.
Games, music, dancing, local food trucks, a Josh Johnson look alike contest, and a few surprises. We teamed up with Creative Netwerk and local artists to celebrate DC’s music and dance culture too.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and come hang out with us! Free shuttle from 1038 Howard Rd SE across from Anacostia Metro.
I just spent 2 wonderful nights in Nashville at the legendary Mother Church, the Ryman Auditorium.
Being able to perform 3 shows in front of almost 7,000 Friends, and to kick it all off on Dolly Day of all days, was incredibly special. Comedy Band Camp has taken us to some remarkable places, but there was something about being in that room on this particular weekend that I’ll never forget.
I can’t thank each of you enough for continuing to give me the opportunity to grace stages like this one. Yall are amazing.
Next weekend, we head to DC for 4 shows at DAR Constitution Hall, where Eddie Murphy filmed Delirious 🤯. See you soon, Friends.
