Okay… this might be one of the best burgers I’ve had in a LONG time. 🍔🤤
Big shout-out to Abaca Baking Company at Ayala Center Cebu here in Cebu City. I stopped in for a burger and fries, and man… this thing was absolutely delicious.
Big, juicy burger, fresh toppings, a great bun, and some seriously good fries on the side. Sometimes you just need a good burger, and this one definitely delivered. 😂
One of the things I enjoy about traveling around the Philippines is finding great little food spots along the way—and Abaca Baking Company has definitely earned a spot on my list.
If you’re around Cebu Business Park and looking for a good meal, this one gets a thumbs-up from me. 👍🍔🇵🇭
Any other Cebu restaurants I need to try while I’m here?

A little shout-out to Agoho Resort here in Camiguin. 🌴🇵🇭
I’ve really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, and it has that quiet, relaxed island atmosphere that I’ve come to really appreciate about Camiguin.
A special thank you to Peter, his wife, and the entire staff for being so friendly and welcoming and for making our stay such an enjoyable one. 🙏 It’s those personal touches and the people you meet along the way that can really make a place memorable.
One of the things I love about traveling around the Philippines is discovering places like this — smaller properties with character, friendly people, and a much more personal feel.
If you’re planning a trip to Camiguin and looking for a place to stay, I can definitely recommend checking out Agoho Resort. 👍🇵🇭
We’ve had an incredible time on this island, and I’m already thinking this probably won’t be my last visit. 😊

Happy Patreon Tuesday from Camiguin. 🌴
I just posted a new behind-the-scenes update from Agoho Resort.
This one is a little more relaxed — walking around the property, showing the beach and gardens, talking about the island, the rides we’ve been doing, and how I’m learning to slow down a little more and just enjoy where I am.
There’s a lot more Camiguin content coming to YouTube over the next couple of weeks, but Patreon is where I share some of the more casual, everyday updates along the way.

Sometimes the Philippines just makes me laugh. 😂🇵🇭
Came across these two signs while out exploring and figured they deserved a post of their own.
“More spaghetti, less upsetti.” 🍝😂
And apparently you can’t buy happiness… but marrying a Filipino might be close enough. 🤣❤️🇵🇭
It’s these random little things I come across while traveling that I love. Beautiful places, good people, great food, and plenty of humor along the way.
Which one wins? 😂
1️⃣ More spaghetti, less upsetti
2️⃣ Marry a Filipino
Hope everyone is having a great day!

One of my favorite things about life here in the Philippines is the people you meet along the way. 🇵🇭❤️
Sometimes the best days aren't really planned. You find a new place, meet some new friends, share a few laughs, and end the day watching another beautiful Philippine sunset.
Just enjoying some good times, good people, and the simple moments that make this life pretty special.
Beautiful people. Beautiful places. New connections. And another day I'm grateful to be here. 😊
Hope everyone out there is doing well and finding a little something to enjoy wherever you are in the world.

Okay… I get it now. 😂🏍️
I recently picked up a pair of Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro boots, and after actually getting them out on the trails with the KLX230 Sherpa, I'm seriously impressed.
I bought them primarily for the protection. That's obviously the big reason for stepping up to a proper off-road boot. But what I wasn't expecting was how much they would actually change the way I feel on the motorcycle.
The support and rigidity when I'm standing on the foot pegs is incredible. I feel much more planted and supported, and that's translating into more confidence when I'm standing and moving around on the bike—especially on rougher terrain.
I'm still pretty new to this whole off-road thing, so confidence matters. And there's something about having your feet and ankles properly supported that makes the bike feel easier to manage underneath you.
Are they as comfortable and flexible as my old adventure boots for walking around? Nope. 😂 But that's not really what they're designed for.
For actually riding off-road, though? Man… now I understand why people recommend a proper motocross/enduro boot.
I'm impressed enough that I think I'm going to shoot a video about these after I've put some more time on them. Not just about the protection, but about how they've changed the way I ride the Sherpa.
Anyone else riding in Tech 7s? What boots are you guys using for off-road riding?

One of my favorite things about retirement in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Today I’m at Dropshot playing pickleball — something I’ve really fallen in love with lately.
One of the greatest gifts of retirement is simply having the freedom to do things like this. I can play pickleball every day if I want to, get some great exercise, meet new people, make new friends, and become more connected with the local community.
And honestly, that’s a big part of what life in the Philippines has become for me. It’s not just the motorcycles, beaches, or beautiful places. It’s building a life here, finding community, staying active, and enjoying the freedom I worked so many years for.
Pretty hard to complain about an afternoon like this. 😊🏓🇵🇭
Hope everyone out there is doing great!

One thing living in the Philippines has taught me: you learn to adapt. 🇵🇭
Depending on where you live in this country, the challenges can be completely different.
Here in Butuan, our electricity is actually pretty reliable. Sure, we have occasional brownouts, but thankfully we don’t normally experience the all-day outages that some parts of the Philippines deal with.
Water, however, is a different story. 💧
When I first moved into my place, there were days when I only had running water for a couple of hours. Some areas around Butuan have very limited water—or sometimes none at all.
So rather than continually fighting the problem, we found a solution.
We installed a roughly 1,300-liter water tank and pump system, giving me a substantial reserve when the city supply isn’t available. Since then we’ve also added access to a deep well, so water is no longer something I spend much time worrying about.
And I think there’s a bigger lesson in that.
Living in another country sometimes requires a shift in mindset. Things aren’t necessarily going to work the way you’re accustomed to back home. You can spend your time being frustrated by that—or figure out what the local challenges are and adapt.
Maybe where you live it’s a water tank. Somewhere else it might be solar power, a backup battery, better internet, or something completely different.
Adapt. Find a solution. Then get back to enjoying the reasons you came here in the first place. 😊🇵🇭
For those of you living in the Philippines: what’s one thing you’ve had to adapt to where you live?

🇵🇭🏍️ Only in the Philippines… the license plate situation is changing again!
When I first moved to the Philippines, one of the strangest things for me as an American was buying a motorcycle and discovering that you didn't necessarily get an actual license plate with it. 😂
You could wait months—or much longer—for the official plate. In the meantime, riders would have temporary plates made. Heck, I remember going to the mall and having a plate printed! That was just part of owning a motorcycle here.
Starting September 1, the LTO has begun stricter enforcement against unauthorized improvised and replica plates. There are legitimate situations where an improvised plate can still be used, but it needs to follow the LTO rules and authorization requirements.
It's another one of those little things about living in the Philippines that you probably wouldn't understand until you've actually lived here.
For my fellow riders in the Philippines: how long did YOU wait for your official plate? And what's the craziest plate situation you've dealt with? 🇵🇭🏍️
