After Winter's War but before the Boiling of the Seas, there was an forgotten age which saw the crumbling of the Western Watch Towers. Unto this unimaginable time came Brian and Jacqueline toiling at length to create their own "Destiny" amidst the chaos.

At last creating a tiny secure fortress of shelter and comfort they were able to spend their waning years in contests of metal, wits, and will, against an ever expanding universe of challenges, each a unique story of struggle and conquest.

Only these pages are left to chronicle their quest for achievements

We are Retired Gen-X Gamers! We retired to play video games. We hunt platform achievements across Steam, Epic, GoG, and other platforms. We tend to play older games trying to catch up on what we missed before retirement.

We love story rich games, puzzles, & action. We play in tandem, Jacqueline keeping us focused and Brian running the controller. We are PC gamers but use a gamepad.

Classic Mode Starts Today!!!

An Immersive Cinematic Experience of The Evil Within 2.

We think of it as a feature film: our path through the game is the direction, the camera work is the cinematography, and method-acting Sebastian's every reaction is the performance. Tango Gameworks wrote the screenplay. We're just trying to do it justice.

We are hunting down the elusive "You Asked For It Again" achievement in this single high stakes, carefully crafted challenge run with two ways to watch! At the time of this post, the completion rate for this achievement on STEAM is just 3.3% even though God Mode is readily available...

TO BE CLEAR : we DID NOT activate any of the God Mode settings, and we DID NOT run this as a Speed Run.

There are nearly 18hours of gameplay to cover the entire game, start to finish, every stitch of story line fully explored with two very different ways to watch:

➢ You Asked For It Again (Commentary) every Mon, Wed, and Fri
────────────────────────────────────────────
Three ~40min episodes per week.

This is where everything we've built comes together. Playing Blind gave us the first honest read of this world, our path through the game. Achievement Hunter built the functional lore — how STEM works, how the Core functions, what administrative access actually means. And the concepts we first explored chasing Akumu and Kurayami through the original game all come together in this playthrough.

Join us as we explore the meaning behind STEM, why the story resonates so well with hard core fans of the games. Help us explore the unexpected depths the game lore can reach.

We will also guide you through each section of the game, in classic mode. The timelines for these episodes are "chapter marked" to make it easy to find any collectable or useful item in the game at a glance. Each description tracks the progress on each of the collectable categories and provides a "Where do I save" roadmap.

➢ Guilt Trip (No Commentary) every Tue and Thu
────────────────────────────────────────────
Two ~60min episodes per week

Want to make up your own mind about the depths of meaning in the game? Don't need a guide? You just want to watch a Survival Horror classic game?

Experience Classic Mode in an immersive driven playthrough without the distraction of someone yammering about what it all means. This is the same Cinematic Gameplay style - the directed path, the cinematography, and the method acted reactions of Sebastian, but there is no Voice Over track.

Don't worry you won't have to read all the item descriptions and documents that popup, Jacqueline's voice over narration is still present, so don't worry about the documents flashing up and away before you get to read them, she will read them to you and you can get 100% of the content the game has to offer, everything that was in the Tango Gameworks script - without having to survive it yourself, and without some gamer telling you what to think about the game, just the pure raw experience of it.

End of Achievement Hunter - but even more great Evil Within content coming!

➢ Classic Mode x2
────────────────────────────────────────────
Next week starts The Evil Within 2 content we've been working toward from the very first Playing Blind episode - Classic Mode.

Classic Mode is one of the hardest challenges in gaming history, but we didn't stop with just treating it as a speed run. We took the time and made the effort to completely explore the entire game in this infamous game mode. Every cut-scene, all 40 documents, all 11 slides with every conversation with Kidman and all of the Anima encounters. Liam and Sykes side quests, and even a trip back to get the rarely seen 4th Wall Easter Egg with Liam before fighting Stefano. Over 15 hours of intense, everything on the line gameplay!

For the first time we are going to present the exact same top tier game play two ways:
────────────────────────────────────────────
■ Monday - Wednesday - Friday watch the Cinematic Release with full commentary focused on the psychological and philosophical messaging behind the game's action.

■ Tuesday & Thursday - the same content will be presented as a Theatrical Release with no commentary - just clean crisp 4K Ultra Graphics settings uninterrupted by voice overs.

➢ Two New Series
────────────────────────────────────────────
Because of the dual release format for Classic Mode, it HAS to start on a Monday, but don't worry, we didn't want you to have to wait an entire week for new Evil Within content. This week we will release two new playlists, both focused on the types of dedicated gamers that frequent our channel

■ A Fresh Look (Original Theories) | The Evil Within 1&2: Lore

────────────────────────────────────────────
This series will take lore deep dives and in a Photo-Journalism-esque style provide the exact scenes, in-game documentation, and character integrations that lead us to form some of our more "unique" takes on how STEM works and what drives the games iconic characters.

The First video:
Curse of the Onryo ( 怨霊 ): Anima’s True Origin | The Evil Within 2 Lore

Will take you through exactly how we came up with our unique theory that Lily created the Onryō from the childhood memory of the owner of Juke's Diner, and how it spread through Union on the wings of a Tatari curse, breaking apart the Citizens and Mobius Operatives internal walls and forcing them to judge their own Souls and create their own Hells.

■ Another Guide to Evil (Achievements) | The Evil Within 2: Reference
────────────────────────────────────────────
This playlist will focus on specific Achievement Guides, short, concise, clean game play showing you exactly how to unlock many of the game's missable achievements.

I know... you are probably asking where the 1st Guide To Evil is... don't worry that is in the works too... but since Episode 9 of the Achievement Hunter series popped to the very top of our channels viewing list in a single week, we decided that the right place to start the guide series was on the achievement that drove the popularity of that episode.

The First Video:
Sometimes Fighting Isn't The Answer (Any Difficulty) | The Evil Within 2

Will not only give you step by step instructions and demonstrate an easy to perform method for unlocking this achievement on Classic Mode - it will also let you laugh at our messy if popular gameplay from Achievement Hunter where we finally figured out the secret.

The Playlist description for both new series list other possible content - I strongly encourage you to comment and let us know which topics interest you the most. We will be working on these series along with similar series for the first game while the Classic Mode season is published... so we have a couple of months to get all the content you want lined up and ready to release at the conclusion of Classic Mode.

As always, Thanks For Watching, We hope you enjoyed it, and will see you in the next Video.

A new season of The Evil Within starts tomorrow (Aug. 3rd 2026)!

➢ Achievement Hunter
──────────────────────────────────────────
In Playing Blind we completed our first full pass through this Survival Horror masterpiece and earned 32 of 51 achievements (63%). That left 19 still to hunt.

16 of those are Performance and Collection achievements, some of which can only be completed in New Game+. Unlike the original Evil Within, you can’t select individual chapters — you have to start at Chapter 1 and play forward. Since one of the remaining achievements sits in Chapter 15, we decided to make this a full second run of the game.

Fair warning: many objects, memories, and side quests already completed in the base game simply do not reappear in NG+. So while this is a complete run of the story, some content is no longer available.

Director’s Commentary this season will dig into how the STEM environment actually works, the various competing “Plans” in play, how those plans are (in Torres’ words) “going to shit,” and why Union was doomed from the start.

➢ Scheduling
──────────────────────────────────────────
We’ll stick with three episodes per week for now. Same Evil Channel, Same Evil Time:

Monday / Wednesday / Friday — 7:00 pm Central

➢ The other 3 Achievements
──────────────────────────────────────────
If you read this far, you probably noticed 3 achievements are still missing. Don’t worry. Stay calm. There is a Plan.

“Against All Odds” and “You Asked For It Again…” will be earned in a fully cinematic, 100% Classic Mode run — something not previously seen on YouTube.

“Powerhouse” will be picked up early in the Classic Mode after-party, when we grab the Brass Knuckles in Chapter 2 of a NG+ follow-on and then cut loose with infinite ammo on Nightmare difficulty.

Series Finale of "Playing Blind" (4 Episodes This Week)

➢ The Final Four Episodes
──────────────────────────────────────────
The final four episodes of our "Playing Blind" series air this week with the extra episode falling on Tuesday 7/28.

We thought we were at the end of the game when our final confrontation with Theodore started in Episode 44 - but there were a couple more twists in the road we didn't see coming!

Episode 45 features Sebastian directly confronting the fears of his past STEM experience. Is he ready to let go of the pain and doubt of those experiences and the intervening years?

Episode 46 there was an unexpected turn of events after besting Theodore, and the reunion with Myra wasn't exactly what Sebastian had in mind. Will he be able to catch up to her and get his family safely out of STEM?

Episode 47 Sebastian catches up with who use to be Myra, but this is not the loving wife he remembers and neither are willing to compromise on what they feel is best for Lily.

Episode 48 See "The Plan" come to it's final conclusion.

Stay to the end of the final episode to watch our Gameplay Highlights while the credits roll, the games epilogue, and see all the game unlocks in the "Results" section.

Sorry about the lateness of the Daily Mahjong video for 7/24... apparently in the scheduling I forgot to change the date, and it was scheduled for the 7/25th (next day) by default... Brian noticed when publishing the Daily Solitaire for 7/25 and went ahead and pushed the 24th's Mahjong out then.

General Content Update - where we are and what is coming to the channel

➢ Playing Blind Wrapping Up, but 3 more series coming
────────────────────────────────────────────
Episodes 39 through 41 post this week. We have completed enough edits to know the series will wrap up around August 1st.

Achievement Hunter
────────────────────────────────────────────
The next series (~13 hours of content) will start Aug 3rd. This will be the "Achievement Hunter" New Game+ Casual game play where we hunt down the missing achievements by fully upgrading equipment and Sebastian as well as find the missing collectables and some combat sequences. The VO content for this series will focus on the "What" side of the game lore - what is happening, why, and what are the motivations of the characters.

You Asked For It... Again...
────────────────────────────────────────────
Will be our "Primary" presentation of the game. Where we focus on the "Method Acting" and "Directorial" process of presenting one of the gaming world's hardest challenges. A complete 20+ hour run with all collectables, all cut-scenes, all documents, all character interactions, and even a surprised "4th Wall Easter Egg". A presentation of the content that has never been braved on YouTube (at least not that we or AI could find).

This series will be posted in stunning 4K run on a 5080 with "Ultra" graphics display settings.

PRESENTED IN DUAL FORMAT:
M/W/F - 40 Min Episodes with full Director Commentary
Tu/Th - 60 min theatrical presentation without commentary.

Dark Drifter
────────────────────────────────────────────
Wearing the "Drifter" costume, Sebastian personifies the Rebel Within character of Rambo the outfit inspires... In this 7hour dash through the Nightmare game on NG+ we get the last achievement "Powerhouse" early in Chapter 2 by finding the Brass Knuckles you get for completing the game on Nightmare difficulty. We use those knuckles, the assault rifle, magnum, and every other weapon with the "Infinite Ammunition" reward from completing the game in Classic Mode to lay waste to literally everything that moves in a full Nightmare NG+ run. (Onryo content is skipped and of course most collectables are not present because they were found in the Classic Mode run).

The Evil Within 2 Content Planning & Scheduling

➢ Planned Content:
──────────────────────────────────────────
We wanted to give you a look ahead at what content was planned for our currently featured game play of The Evil Within 2.

Currently we have 3 planned playthroughs of the game:
1. Playing Blind - Our 1st pass of the game, full exploration mode, trying to find everything the game has to offer - side quests, collectables, combat stiles, side games, etc... The Voice Overs for this playthrough will focus on 1st impressions, explaining what we were thinking or attempting and why. We will point out things about the story as they first occurred to us. The game completion time was ~27.5 hours

2. Achievement Hunt - Our 2nd pass of the game on NewGame+ Casual where we go back and fill in the things we missed, the missed collectables, specific combat sequences, etc... The voice over for this series will focus on what we missed, how we figured out what we missed and how to complete it, but will also start to try and thread a "theory" of the storyline together. The game completion time was ~13.5 hours

3. Classic-Mode - The only "Full Challenge Run Achievement" for the game. This will follow our signature YouTube form: A Curated, Complete, Cinematic, Challenge run where we not only complete the challenge, but also find all of the collectables, complete all of the side quests, and see every interaction and cut-scene. The voice overs will focus more on the lore, back stories, and philosophy of the game rather than detailing what action is on the screen (though of course we will highlight strategies for the challenge run and specific encounters). We are still in the process of filming this run... so can't say how long it will be - but expect it to be around 20hrs of content.

4. Shorts & Guides - Since we will have all of our gameplay recoreded this time, we hope to pull together some shorter videos that viewers can use to quickly locate collectables and other important items into individual videos. So if you are missing an item you can quickly and efficiently find the information you need rather than watching over 50hrs of video.

5. As we get near the end of the "Classic-Mode" run, we will post a survey asking you if you would be interested in more content - such as an Akumu run, even though it is not tied to an achievement - watch for that individual post in the next week or two.

➢ Scheduling:
──────────────────────────────────────────
For now we will be sticking to the 3 videos per week. The Voice Overs are done usually just a day or so before the video is posted, and the full descriptions the day of or at most a day before the post... we are hoping to streamline the description generation as it really isn't clear how many of you are actually reading that content. If we can pull this post-production processing down to a more manageable effort and get far enough of ahead, we may increase the schedule to 5 videos per week in order to get through the entire catalog more quickly.

Closing out The Evil Within & Starting The Evil Within 2; A Daily Casual Update.

➢The Evil Within:
──────────────────────────────────────────
We had a great time playing and presenting this game. We did have plans to make a "Easter Eggs" & Highlights Reel along with the "Game in Review"... but this week end as we went to chase down a few more Easter Eggs we got bit by the "No Saved Game" bug. This happened to us earlier in the game play as well - just before we ran the "It Is What It Is" and "Kidman Survival" runs - but it didn't matter as much then as those were both "New Game" runs anyway - but this time we lost all our Akumu stats, the brass knuckles and even the ability to start a "New Game+" run... not going to play the whole game again just to hunt an oversized pig and some crows...

So sadly all we have left to offer is our "Game In Review" video where we talk about our impressions of the game ... believe me the "No Saved Game Data" will have a staring role in that discussion.

Our plan is to post that on Monday at 7pm CST.

➢ The Evil Within 2:
──────────────────────────────────────────
Every cloud has a silver lining (even when it has no Saved Game Data)... since we won't be creating a "highlight" reel for The Evil Within, we'll jump straight in to The Evil Within 2!

Wednesday will be the first episode of our "Let's Play", blind run through the game. We're calling it a "Let's Play" because it truly is a "Blind Unboxing" as we knew nothing about the game nor the achievements when we started other than the promotional material. We thought capturing all of our game play would be a good way to show how we approach new games and work toward deeper understandings of the lore as well as get all the achievements.

The first playthrough took a little over 25 hours done "our way" - you will see that we don't make any attempt at "speed" and often beat our heads against a wall trying to understand some mechanic or side story.... but it was a great deal of fun - so we hope you'll take that journey with us.

One thing that will definitely be different from the Akumu & Kurayami runs - there will be no "complete lore" discusses as we don't yet have it all even figured out, but you can explore our thoughts as we go through the process of condensing, cutting & splicing, and reviewing our own gameplay.

The first video of the first play list drops Wed at 7pm CST.

➢ Daily Casual: Solitaire:

──────────────────────────────────────────
You may have noticed a more consistent pacing to the card flips and a recent lack of "Restart" tracking.... It seems the fans of these videos are more likely to be looking for a "solution" to a board that gave them and issue, than wanting to just Zen out and hear the cards flip... well... as it turns out it is easier for us to simply edit out the false turns and not put "extra graphics" on the screen detailing the number of restarts and such... so, in an effort to give you what you are looking for, we are just flipping the cards in the right order now...

Now my game play didn't suddenly become "perfect", just my editing became more diligent... If you miss the more "honest" apporach and would like to see the board and game restarts the way they use to be - sound off in the comments - I am more than happy to bring them back. It just seemed based on viewing statistics (though no real comments) that people were hunting for specific board solutions, so i was trying to make it easier for them to find what they were looking for.

Along those lines we are now posting the Video update as soon as it is ready - which seems to be around 3am CST on most days - sometimes earlier. So you can either enjoy the zen card flipping with your breakfast, or get the solution you need early in you day.

We do still post the "congratulation" experience dumps, level up fireworks, and monthly badge bar progress - so some "overhead" still in there.

Kurayami ( 暗闇 ) - The Assignment Chapter 2 schedule; Solitaire schedule change

➢Kurayami ( 暗闇 )
──────────────────────────────────────────────
Join us as the darkness gets deeper. The conclusion of The Assignment DLC is presented in three episodes this week, following the Mon - Wed - Fri format with one chapter of the DLCs per week.

➢MS Solitaire Schedule

──────────────────────────────────────────────
Our Daily Casual: MS Solitaire content will continue to be daily, but will be posted as early as we can for the day. So grab your morning coffee and beagle and let's solve the challenges together! The change was made to help anyone that likes to start their day with the casual card play before the day gets too hectic.

Please understand that by "as early as possible", I have to actually complete the challenges and then do the post editing and upload the result to YouTube... I try to start them as close to Midnight my local time as possible, but the exact start time and how long it will take me to complete the challenges and edit the video are definitely subject to daily variations lol...
