Welcome to Crunkyy's Travels. I am an expat currently living in rural Japan. I am not a filmmaker or full YouTuber by any means but I am using this platform as a way to document and showcase my travels. I specialize in POV video style as a way to let you "see thru my eyes". I have some plans but I will periodically poll viewers on what they want to see. If you have recommendations, let me know in comments of any video and I will consider. Currently, I am showing Thailand and Japan, and soon SE Asia. If you watch a video, I kindly ask you to comment as it helps me become better. Watch if you want, sub if you want, or don't watch. No pressure. Welcome to my channel.

Crunkyy's Travels
Had a nice time in Bangkok again. Celebrated our 17 year wedding anniversary. We met some friends too. As mentioned in the last post, had a small collaboration with youtuber Myat Noe. She was with her family so we didn't get to do a stream. Instead, we did a small Q&A video with her and her sister from their secondary channel, Moments in Motion. I am currently editing this video as the sound needs alot of work but I'll upload it as soon as possible. Stay tuned.

Next week, I will visit Bangkok for my wedding anniversary and I was invited by my friend and youtuber Myat Noe from @MyatNoesdiary03 to do a collaboration of either a video or a livestream with her while Im there. Not sure which but whatever is decided, I will ensure there is a link. More to come and I hope many of you can watch, whatever she decides to do. Stay tuned.

New video is up. Similar to last year but a different day of the festival, I take you to the main street roadside this time to watch the massive floats, crowds of people and booming Taiko drums echoing throughout the city. Enjoy.

Thank you to all that joined the 2 part streams. It was short and the performance was running behind schedule. I'll post these two streams anyway and I have another video from the festival taken yesterday featuring floats in the street that I'll post later this evening. Also, Thanks to all that left comments...... and I think I saw Seelas too. I didn't know you were subbed to me still lol.
My phone got too hot and shut down. My apologies.

The Japanese Autumn Festival starts this weekend. I will perform a livestream of the event on September 5th at 1PM, JAPAN TIME.
There will be parades of floats featuring hundreds of Taiko drummers moving through the streets. This stream will be a little different. I will still start at the above time and walk around the area a bit but about 40 minutes in, I will go to the performing lot where there will be a large stationary drum performance. I dont know how many drums but if I can get a good position, it will be a cool thing to see, I hope.
I made a video of this festival last year on this channel if you are curious what to expect. I wont be able to say anything since the noise will be too loud but I will try to respond to comments if I can.
Hope to see some of you there!

The Annual Japanese Autumn Festival is coming back to my area this year. On September 4th, 5th or 6th, not sure which one.... I will conduct a livestream of the event. There will be floats full of drummers in the street, food, dancing, lots of music and crowds of people. Probably wont speak, I dont know yet. In any case, it should be something fun to watch.
I made a video on the event last year you can search for. So I feel a stream this time will be better.

Channel Update.
Hello. So I have been invited to do a collaboration stream with another YouTuber in October. I wont give away details yet but this person really wants me to do a stream and video with them, So we will see what happens.
Also
My most recent videos have very low viewing. That is my three part driving series and my 100 meter statue walkthrough. I put alot of time and effort and money into each video. So please watch the content I make. If not, then why are you subbed to me, lol?
Also, also
Lastly, drop me a comment or post if you have ideas for me to take video of. I still have one viewer who asked me to do a Samurai location in Kyoto. I havent forgotten, but Kyoto isnt very tourist friendly these days and its far from me. Nevertheless, it is on my list.

New video up. If you are offended by Japanese Buddhism, maybe skip this one. If not, then enjoy the 10th tallest statue in the world.

I am currently working on this giant statue video covering Japanese Buddhism and I feel I need to say this. Some people disagree with this religion while others embrace it. If you are offended by this religion, please do not watch the video when it posts.
This video will feature Byakue Kannon (the white-robed Avalokiteshvara bodhisattva). It is a simple walkthrough of the 100m statue but it is heavily influenced in this Japanese Buddhist practice. As a result, you are going to see alot of Buddhas and Kannon and other statues.
I will not pretend I know everything about this statue. In fact, I know absolutely nothing, other than what I research. So when this video posts, please watch with an open mind and do not judge or attack others in the comments. I currently have other engagements taking my time but this video is almost ready to go out. Hopefully by the weekend.
Stay tuned and if you have any comments about it, please feel free to address them here.
