Why are we going to talk about the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven? I’ve always wondered.Remember that song “Christ is Risen” by Mac Brock “And all throughout eternity, our song will be the sameHallelujah, Christ is risen from the grave.”Why talk about an event in the past when we’re in heaven with Jesus with new bodies and a sinless perfect life? Here’s the answer:When you’re in the new creation, you’re not looking backward at some irrelevant historical event. You’re literally living inside the consequences of Christ’s resurrection.Your glorified body exists because Christ rose.Your eternal life exists because Christ rose.Your victory over death exists because Christ rose. The new heavens and new earth exist within the triumph of Christ. So the resurrection will never become irrelevant because your existence is permanently connected to it.The cross doesn’t become an historical footnote once history reaches its climax.Every time you look at the person who rescued you, you’re reminded:“You saved me.”Now multiply that infinitely. The cross isn’t merely something Jesus did.It is the supreme demonstration of who Jesus is.And we will spend eternity looking at Him.

Why are we going to talk about the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven? I’ve always wondered.
Remember that song “Christ is Risen” by Mac Brock “And all throughout eternity, our song will be the same
Hallelujah, Christ is risen from the grave.”
Why talk about an event in the past when we’re in heaven with Jesus with new bodies and a sinless perfect life?
Here’s the answer:
When you’re in the new creation, you’re not looking backward at some irrelevant historical event.
You’re literally living inside the consequences of Christ’s resurrection.
Your glorified body exists because Christ rose.
Your eternal life exists because Christ rose.
Your victory over death exists because Christ rose.
The new heavens and new earth exist within the triumph of Christ.
So the resurrection will never become irrelevant because your existence is permanently connected to it.
The cross doesn’t become an historical footnote once history reaches its climax.
Every time you look at the person who rescued you, you’re reminded:
“You saved me.”
Now multiply that infinitely.
The cross isn’t merely something Jesus did.
It is the supreme demonstration of who Jesus is.
And we will spend eternity looking at Him.
