New post over on my Patreon! Free for everyone to watch.

www.patreon.com/DylanBlackburnPhotos/posts/new-ser…

I've been making Youtube videos and documenting my photography process for FIVE years now. Things have evolved but stayed relatively consistent over time.

One the most difficult aspects of making my photo walk/vlog videos is the pressure to be able to find enough to photograph for 10/15/20 or even 30 minute video. I would love to post a long photo vlog of some sort every week, but until I'm able to afford to travel hours away on a regular basis (gotta love gas being over $4 a gallon) that just isn't realistic at the moment.

I drive past things on a daily basis that I tell myself I want to stop and take photos of but never do. With this new series that changes. Photo journals will be shorter 5-6 minute videos documenting my photography outings. Some vlogging, but mostly subtitles that add a new layer to the videos. I've always enjoyed watching subtitled videos rather narrated and I'm hoping to find a nice blend.

Here is a clip from my next video!

How's everyone feeling about camera gear videos nowadays?

I can't be the only one who finds them to be extremely monotonous to watch and even more of a chore to make.

For any of my viewers who are thinking about buying the Viltrox 26mm 2.8 EVO… you might want to wait. This is gonna look so good on the A7C’s.

Big announcement!

I’ve decided to move away from selling my Lightroom presets on my website. From now on, my Lightroom presets will be available on a storefront on my Patreon!

www.patreon.com/cw/DylanBlackburnPhotos/shop

There are positives and negatives to either way, but one huge benefit is that you will ALWAYS have access to the presets and be able to redownload them. I can’t tell you how many times over the years I have received emails from people who no longer have access to my presets because Squarespace’s digital download delivery system.

The big downside that I want to make you aware of:

If you are buying from an iPhone or iPad (or any iOS device, Macs not included), Patreon has no choice but to charge you the “Apple Tax”. I highly recommend buying from a desktop computer so you don’t have to pay $36 instead of $25 or $11.50 instead of $8.

With that made clear, this is a soft launch of my Patreon! I’m still ironing out the kinks regarding memberships. Still deciding how to navigate memberships on there and here on YouTube.

Today is the last day my website will be public, and with that I will be retiring one of my preset packs. It’s currently on sale for 9.99 until whenever Squarespace takes down my website haha.
