According to available sources, the new Iraqi pilgrimage policy currently applies only to Pakistani men under the age of 50 traveling alone. Women are not subject to this under-50 restriction, and female pilgrims—including those traveling without a family member—are reportedly being allowed to enter. However, men under 50 traveling alone are not being permitted under the current policy.

If you are a female pilgrim planning to travel without a family member, it is still recommended to confirm the latest requirements with your Kafla Salar or authorized tour operator before departure, as travel policies may change.

As Muharram begins, incidents of tension, sectarian provocation, and attempts to create unrest against the Shia community are once again being reported in different areas.

In Malir, Karachi, some extremists allegedly tried to stop a Sabeel-e-Hussain, leading to an argument with local Shias. Police quickly handled the situation and prevented it from escalating. The sabeel remains active, and its services continue as normal.
