Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing great. Thank you so much for your patience with me and my upload schedule. I’ve not only been very busy collaborating with other friends on various other projects, but extremely rough and heavy things have happened in mine and my family’s lives over the last few years that have completely changed everything for us. Some things I’ve been public about, some I haven’t been, and others I unfortunately can’t be. This is out of a more active effort to keep away from the poison of social media, valuing my family’s privacy far more as I get older, and because in a few specific instances, I realised that talking publicly about absolutely everything that ever happens in your life is not only asking for trouble, but it’s also tiring. You aren’t here for any of that. Like with any big update posts I make, these are purely only for your information. Not a call to sympathy or support - just an explanation on where I’m at and why uploads might not be as frequent.

Rest assured, I haven’t died, lol. Everyone at home is doing okay. The next video (working title; ‘The Concerning World of Crash Bandicoot Mods’) is very close to being finished. It’s roughly 1h50m and work began on it even before the recent Rugrats video went public. I also know exactly what I want to do for the video afterwards.

Additionally, I wanted to use this post to let you all know that even though I’m aware the gaps in uploads are big, I can absolutely promise you that this isn’t due to a lack of work. Priorities in my life have shifted drastically in the last few years, but I’m not working any less than I ever was before. Aside from the odd collaboration with other colleagues, getting sick every so often and the extremely occasional day off, every single day I’m working on these projects as much as my life (currently) will allow. Recording game footage, writing notes, scripting, planning camera shots, arranging shoots in certain locations with certain people, getting props and costumes made, filming, travelling, recording voiceover, editing it all together with the effects……there isn’t a single day I’m not working on something. Even when I’m away from home, my editing MacBook comes with me so I can continue to get stuff done on the train or in the hotel. My videos are not a 1-week slapped-together affair, they really do take MONTHS to make, which is exactly how I want it, and love it. As I grow older and things in my life change, one thing will always remain the same - to respect you as my audience and give you the best creation as I possibly can, however long that may take. If that turns out to be a 10 minute shitpost or a 3 hour deep dive into a PS1 cheatbook, whatever happens will be a result of me only ever trying to make the best thing I can and want to make. I refuse to just shit something out and would rather make 2-3 great videos per year - rather than 50 rushed, cynical, bloated and compromised disasters per year.

PS, I also guarantee you that getting outside help for editing or whatever else will 100% add even MORE time onto the workload, because of how specific I have the video in my head. I’d spend more time sending things back than just making it myself. Plus, I figured that I built my current audience based on you liking what I do, so why would I ever change that? My script is me, my camerawork is me, my edits are me. It’s all me, it’s what I do. It’s who I am.

As for generative AI? Don’t make me laugh, lol. Fuck off and actually make something, pussies

I've started a new show on the Sleeps channel - commentary tracks from me as I watch all of my vids from 2020 onwards, but in a deliberately slow-paced, quiet and calm tone. People often tell me that my main channel vids help them fall asleep, and if that's truly the case, then I think these might actually just knock you into a coma
