Darktable 5.6 drops this Sunday (June 21), and it's bringing more AI to a free, open-source raw editor than I expected to see this year.
Over the past few weeks I've covered all three new AI-powered tools landing in this release: SAM2 object masking (the Lightroom-style click-to-mask feature), AI denoise via the new neural restore module, and AI upscale for blowing up your raw files without Topaz or a subscription.
