Welcome to the iceberg's hidden bottom.
How brands manipulate you. How creators build empires. How stories make people buy, follow, and remember.
Hidden patterns, attention psychology, and the strategies nobody teaches — for creators and brands who want an unfair advantage.

A ₹3,00,000 smartphone isn’t a mistake. It’s a smart example of business strategy, tax planning, and pricing psychology.

When Apple priced the iPhone Duo at ₹2,99,900 in India, people were shocked. But if you look closer, you’ll see three clear strategies behind the price:

1. The Import Math (CBU vs Local Manufacturing)

Unlike base iPhones assembled in India, the Duo enters as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

- US Base Price: ~$2,200 (~₹1,85,000) approx.
- Customs Duty (BCD) + Social Welfare Surcharge: ~₹30,500
- 18% GST (on imported value + duty): ~₹38,800
- Forex Hedging & Distribution Margins: ~₹45,000

By the time the phone reaches stores, taxes and currency changes add more than ₹1,10,000 to the original price.

2. The 256GB "Trojan Horse" Strategy

Why would a top foldable phone with dual 48MP cameras and high-res screens start with just 256GB of storage?

- Price Skimming: Recoup massive R&D costs upfront from early adopters.

- The SaaS Funnel: 256GB fills up fast with high-quality photos and videos, so users end up needing iCloud+.

- Margin Expansion: Hardware grosses ~35-40%, whereas Apple Services yield 70%+ gross margins.

Selling the phone is just the first step to get customers in. The real business is in the subscriptions.

3. The Psychology: Veblen Goods & Price Anchoring

- Veblen Good Effect: A high price makes the phone seem more exclusive. In places like India, a ₹3 lakh phone is more than just a device—it shows off the buyer’s status.

- Price Anchoring: By setting the top price at ₹3,00,000, the ₹1,64,900 iPhone Pro suddenly seems like a good deal.

- Mental Accounting: After spending ₹3 lakhs on a phone, paying ₹219 a month for iCloud feels small in comparison.

Apple isn’t just selling phones anymore. They’re offering a way into a profitable, ongoing ecosystem.

What do you think? Would you buy a high-end phone knowing it’s meant to get you into subscriptions, or do you think the ecosystem is worth it?

Let me tell you a quick, humiliating story.

A few years back, I was the classic shy, underconfident introvert in the room. You know how it goes: sitting quietly at a gathering, hoping no one would ask for my opinion.

Then came that night.

The group started talking about economics, modern tech, global culture, and even PS5 games. Or maybe it was PS4; I’m not sure.

I know it sounds shit…But I didn’t even know when someone asked me Are you studying in a co-ed school or a boys-only school?

I said: Matlab…? (I was 16 years old at that time), I know it’s funny!

I had no idea about any of these topics. I just sat there, nodding like a broken dashboard toy. When I finally tried to join the conversation, the room went silent.

People made jokes about me, and after that, I wasn’t invited to future hangouts (I refuse, honestly)

Other day: Someone called me “BHONDU LAAL”

Your first frame count as view on! 🥳 khushi ka mahol! Par……iska matlab views metric is not a priority now! To grow.

- CTR (because no click no view)
- Retention (because if view count on first frame, all matters is retention to check if this content worth expanding or not.)
- engagement metrics: comments, hype, shares, then comes like

Watch this for more context, why this is happening:
