On the precipice of this state's ballot referendum, Amendment 4, to enshrine child sacrifice in its constitution in November, we'll be working to exalt the name of King Jesus and push back the darkness under His banner.

Join us in the Cincinnati suburban area April 24th-27th as we help to inspire a path forward and examine lessons from the awful ballot defeat last November. Often we can learn more from defeat than victory, and in this case, there are many lessons to be learned. During the day, we will engage in outreaches at local university campuses, abortion clinics, and time for lobbying the state legislature to seek justice for unborn children. In the afternoon and evening rallies, we will all join back together for training in apologetics/evangelism, political principles and strategy for future ballot initiatives, and calling the Ohioan Church to fulfill her duty and role in light of this terrible defeat. The new year is upon us, OSA family! As such, we have released our newly updated 2024 OSA Bible Reading Plan (download at bottom of page). God’s word is “…a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Ps. 119:105) and for that light of Christ to shine brightly not just in our own hearts, but into the darkness of our nation, we as individuals must be digging deep into the Scriptures daily and fill ourselves with it. Simply put, we must “bleed the Bible” if ever cut.
But it is not enough that we ourselves cultivate daily Bible reading- those around us, our families, churches, and friends must also be. It is in this sweet fellowship and communion that God has ordained true bond and community to be able to fight back against the enemy’s devices. You can’t go it alone.
Today, I want to encourage you not just to participate in this Bible reading plan, but to intentionally incorporate it into other aspects of your daily life and of those nearest to you.
Spiritual disciplines, virtues, maturity, and sanctification are at the center of this battle. We must continually be denying ourselves and being filled with the word, so that we have Christ, the light and life, to offer to a wicked and adulterous generation. After all, what else do we have to offer? “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh.” (Rom. 7:18)
A couple of practical exhortations:
1. Do not get caught up in the hype of upcoming national political news. We must indeed be involved in these spheres so as to bring Christ into conflict with their evil, but we cannot allow constantly changing events to control our thinking. Steadfast acts of obedience done in faith are what will be rewarded, not seeking catharsis.
2. Consider taking time to retreat into a quiet place to find rest, or remove all social media distractions for a time before returning to this work heading into the new year. This is a great setting for meditation on the Scriptures, and especially catching back up on the reading program. I also highly suggest praying or singing through the Psalms when they come up in the plan if you are able. This has been the practice of God’s people for centuries, and is really quite easy to begin doing!
3. Prepare for another chaotic year. Remember 2020? What a wild time. And yet, all indicators show that this upcoming year could be quite similar. In light of this, “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” (Col. 3:2) Only then will we be able to enter into Kingdom battle in a balanced and humble fashion, following in Christ’s footsteps and ushering others along in the same way. Below is attached the newly updated 2024 Bible Reading Schedule. We pray this year we will grow in the knowledge of our Lord, and apply His word to our lives.
Luke 1 teaches us that even as a fetus, John the Baptist was preparing the way of the Lord and making His paths straight by his conception being a miraculous sign to Blessed Mary and confirmation of her virgin birth to our Lord Jesus.
Consider the Christmas story in the Gospel of Luke. It could in no way present a higher view of the value of unborn children than it already does. Inside the womb of Mary was the salvation of the world. Your great God and Savior, dear Christian, was once a zygote. The Word became flesh in the fallopian tube of an unmarried teenager.
Think on that reality. Set your heart on things that are above (Colossians 3:2) this Christmas season, and pray and work to translate those weighter matters which God places great value on into genuine, substantive action for vulnerable unborn children who are killed by abortion every day in our community. Jesus, in His incarnation, identifies with the humanity of every single unborn child. May we treat them with as such.
