I am just finishing Psalm 119, and let me tell you a story.... Everyone LOVES David and says they want to be like him because he was "a man after God's own heart." Yeah, that's right. He was chasing after God's heart and God's will! God gave us The Law and His instructions/Commandments and told us that "IF we LOVE Him; we WILL OBEY His Commandments." Sure, David was flawed, but he never gave up because of it. He still did his absolute best in order to honor God with his heart, body, soul, and spirit.

I said to Andrew the other day, "You know, Psalm 119 is so incredibly beautiful, but most Christians today pick out a couple verses that they like the sound of and just dismiss ALL the others! If David, who they claim to look up to so much, was alive today, He would be mocked, gossiped about and called 'Legalistic' in the comments whenever He posted his newest poem or worship song lyrics. When really, He was just simply in love with the Lord and because of that love, his heart's desire BECAME God's heart's desire."

Let me also remind you out of love that, Jesus is God and the Word made flesh. Jesus was also there from the beginning, according to both the Old and New Testaments. Jesus is also the same Yesterday, Today and FOREVER. So, since He IS the Word, which contains His Law/Instructions/Commandments, whatever you choose to call it, and He literally walked the Earth showing us how to walk it all out in obedience and taught His followers to walk in His ways, He expects us to follow as well. Sure, He was perfect and we're not, but HE STILL EXPECTS US TO TRY!

Don't forget about Matthew 5:18, from literally THE GREATEST SERMON EVER, "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved." (NLT)
As far as I can tell, Heaven and Earth is still here, so it still applies. But, how will we know when something no longer applies?🤔 Don't worry, you'll know. God will make it exponentially clear! Remember that little temple veil incident....now we can go directly into God's presence ANY TIME and we no longer have to make sacrifices for our sins, because Jesus was/is our sacrifice.✝
