It has been estimated by multiple reports that Manchester City have spent tens of millions of £ on their legal defence.
Whilst the world waits for the consequences to City's recent guilty verdict for the majority of the 115 charges brought against them - their lawyers are drowning in cash 💰
Following Balogun’s straight red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, senior Trump administration officials actively recruited high-powered, administration-aligned lawyers to explore a formal legal challenge.
Alongside White House efforts, U.S. Soccer leadership fought the ruling by arguing that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) process was incorrectly applied. Sources noted that the federation explicitly presented FIFA with the prospect of taking the dispute to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Pair these threats with Donald Trump’s three separate phone calls to Gianni Infantino, and you have a clear political campaign to interfere in the integrity of the World Cup.
Is this a landmark precedent in the sport? And what can FIFA do to correct this dark decision?
A strange discourse surrounds tonight's @fifa World Cup Group G fixture between Iran and Egypt.
Host city Seattle designated it as a Pride Celebration match long before the draw for the tournament yet now we have an LGBTQ+ event involving two nations where homosexuality is criminalised - with Iran still issuing the death penalty for it.
For Qatar 2022, gay fans were told to respect the host nations' laws and customs - so should this not be the case by these two nations in regards to Seattle?
