There was a Facebook debate about buying books for children for the new school year. Almost 35% of all parents cannot afford 1 or all of the required books this year.

I am curious how many American, Canadian, or Aussie kids that are LEGAL citizens of those countries go to a public school without REQUIRED books?

There has been some push back on my talk about Visa run questioning from Immigration.

"Most claims are "I have an eVisa so I am fine"

A reminder below that an eVisa is NOT by Vietnam immigration laws not granted or promised entry to the Country of Vietnam

It is a path to come to Vietnam and be considered, the Immigration officer always holds the final say

Nothing official but talks have been going about which are focused on Vietnamese but Westerns will be hit on this VERY fast as well.

Offering services, tours, advice (Consultations regarding Vietnam [As in Inside the country])

These things are BEING considered a near future tax and if not paid a means of tax evasion for locals.

How does this affect expats, its hard to say as the 6 month law has no real laws enforcing it.

Vietnam can block a western from leaving due to taxes or fines due its a hard case for the Gov to uphold for Tourist status people


AGAIN, just a heads up - nothing is official nothing is on desk drafted but the talk is happening and THIS IS FOR THE LOCALS, but as we have seen with everything else this year local laws are affecting long term expats in Vietnam
