A lot of you have told me the same thing about your pastor. He'll preach a whole sermon on what the husbands owe, and when he gets to the wives he's got nothing to say. My wife and I have been doing the wives' half for months now, on a channel most of you have never seen.

The Heroes' Forge has a podcast. Most of what you watch here is built tight, one argument with the verses on screen and a charge at the end. The podcast is the two of us at the table with a Bible, talking a thing all the way through. It runs as long as the subject needs, which is usually an hour and a half to two hours. Same convictions as this channel, with a lot more room.

Tomorrow night (Tuesday, 9/15), 7pm Central, I'm going live.

There's a video going around with a quarter of a million views on it. It explains why your wife wants to run your house, and most of it is right. The man has done work on the Hebrew. He knows what happened to the culture. And then he does the one thing that loses the whole argument: he goes to Genesis 3 to find out where your authority came from.

If your headship is part of the curse, then it is one more piece of damage from the fall. And we spend our whole lives fighting the damage from the fall. We invented the plough because of the thorns. Nobody calls a man a rebel for using one.

So a Christian who wants to be faithful should be working to get rid of your authority, because that is what you do with a curse.

That is the feminist argument. Word for word. And our own side keeps handing
it to them.

Paul never did that. Every time he grounds the order of a house he reaches past the curse and goes back to the garden, to the part where nothing was broken yet.

I'll show you the verses tomorrow.

After that, a man who wrote to me this week. His wife walked out, his church would not confront her, and then they took away his ministry to the teenagers because of his problems. Thirty years on he is still watching it happen to other men.

And then the number everyone is quoting about men opting out, and the part nobody has connected to a church yet.

I think in a lot of ways a number like that can go to a man's head, so I want to be plain about how I read it. Most of you are men who sat in a pew and watched a pastor apologize for a verse, and who went looking for someone willing to read the text without flinching. And around two thousand of you are women, many of whom came in on the Proverbs 31 video and stayed, because women also want to hear the text read straight. You found this channel because you were already looking. All I did was refuse to blink.

So thank you. Thank you to the men who comment chapter and verse, because you keep me sharp and you keep me sourced. Thank you to the men who send these videos to their sons, their brothers, and their elders, because that is how this message travels. And to every man who wrote in to ask if it was too late for him: you are the reason this channel exists, and the answer is still no.
