Sarkis Aly TV makes animated history documentaries: researched narration over maps where you watch the borders actually move. We're an independent educational channel based in the United States, and most of what we make circles the same question. How did geography, shifting borders, and the choices of governments end up shaping what happened?
The videos are for students, for teachers who need something to put on the screen in class, and for anyone who got curious one night and fell down a history rabbit hole at 2am. A list of dates never did much for me. But watch a front line crawl across a map, with the rivers and mountains sitting right where the armies had to deal with them, and the whole thing clicks.
We get the facts right and we put real hours into the animation. New episode every week.

The Philippines is ranked #1 in the world. Just not for the reason the viral posts claim.
The WorldRiskReport 2026, released this week by Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft and Ruhr University Bochum, scores all 193 UN countries on natural disaster risk. The Philippines came first with 46.69, ahead of India (44.97) and Indonesia (44.63).
The index measures two things: how exposed a country is to natural hazards, and how well its people can cope and adapt when disaster hits. Crime, murder rates and war are not part of the formula. So "most disaster-prone country" is accurate. "Most dangerous country to live" is not.
Why the Philippines? Mostly geography. The country sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire and inside the western Pacific typhoon belt, and it takes around 20 typhoons in an average year. This year's report focused on storms, and the Philippines also topped the separate Storm Risk Index at 69.27. What sets it apart is how many hazards stack on the same islands: storm exposure 89.71, earthquakes 73.15, tsunamis 69.66, sea level rise 60.17.
This is the fifth year in a row at #1, not the twentieth. In 2021 the Philippines was 8th and Vanuatu was 1st. The index rebuilt its method in 2022, and the Philippines has led every edition since.
Want a ranking about violence instead? In the Global Peace Index 2026 the Philippines is 102nd out of 163. Lower half, nowhere near last.
The "most dangerous country" headline keeps coming back. In 2025 a comparison site called HelloSafe named the Philippines the most dangerous country for tourists, then pulled the ranking and apologized after the backlash.
Being the most disaster-exposed country on Earth is serious enough on its own. It is a different claim from being the most dangerous place to live, and the difference matters.
