FREE COURSE: Buying a House You Can Afford. Start with the playlist at the top of this page.

Priced out of buying a house? We were too. We left an expensive city and now live full time in a 2,400 square foot barndominium home on 11 acres in the mountains, with no big mortgage. Our only debt is a $200 a month land loan.

Here you'll find affordable housing ideas that work in real life: barndominium homes and floor plans, tiny homes and shed tiny home conversions, RV living, cabin kits, and modular and manufactured homes, plus how much each one really costs.

We put $2,500 down on land, started with a tiny home shed cabin, then built our barndominium home a couple of years later for under $200,000, compared to $380,000 to $525,000 for a traditional home.
