So before my busy weekend we got to painting the StarCraft Adepts and painting over the clear plastics with Auric Armour is no joke! Seriously it goes on like a glaze, so to fix the problem and reduce it from 5 coats of gold to just 2 we based the plastic with Mournfang Brown and just like magic, the gold went on so much smoother!

My beautiful 18 year old metal Sternguard Veteran Sergeant nearly done after so many years of neglect, adorned with the brush head of the old metal (it is I)Cato Sicarius's spare helmet, his back banner from a really old Dark Angels kit and his base from the Blood Bowl slotted 32mm bases.

All in all I'm really happy with how he's coming along, there's only a handful left to do tomorrow and he's all done, I really wanted to hit the modern aesthetic of the current baller Sternguard but with a miniature that's just brimming with character and who's going to kick some butt in 11th edition with the new rules in hand!

Nearly 20 years after its release, I’m finally getting a little paint added onto my metal, kitbashed Sternguard Vet! 💙 I’d almost forgotten just how much harder it is to work on these old sculpts, with their details being so much less pronounced but on the right side just look at how much character they have! Amazing miniatures and this unit will be seeing board time soon!

🔥 Who wants a GUIDE for the StarCraft terrain/natural stone? 🔥

I am blown away by the price and quality of Archon Studio’s Lost Temple Ramp… at my FLGS this was about £27 and yet look at the size and detail to it, it’s freaking massive! One of my big likes of the StarCraft TMG game is that the prices are still kept ‘low’ despite being a licensed product, GW makes some incredible terrain but this would still be roughly double the price for that amount of plastic… well done!

Another piece of terrain where we’re going to get out the airbrush and quickly get to priming before dry-brushing and adding in all those beautiful little details. As with all of my SC bases and terrain, we’re aiming for overgrown ruins and so I get to do my favourite thing of adding in light green hues into the stones to create that mossy appearance!
