My heart goes out to everyone affected by the devastating train crash near Urda, in Toledo, Spain. At least 69 people lost their lives, many others were injured, and families are still dealing with an unimaginable loss.

Thinking of the victims, their loved ones, the survivors, and everyone involved in the emergency response and recovery efforts. Spain has been such an important place in my travels and in this community, and I know many of you have deep connections there as well. 🇪🇸

One of our clients, Ken, moved to Tirana at 76 with two suitcases, no local network, and no real idea what life there would look like. Fifteen months later, he says Albania is home. He has made friends, built a routine, and developed a deep admiration for the people around him. He’s even six months into learning Albanian, which he compares to discovering just how steep a mountain is once you actually start climbing it. 🇦🇱

Even with ongoing protests affecting parts of central Tirana, Ken says daily life in his neighborhood continues normally and that he still feels safe and settled there. His perspective is a good reminder that living somewhere gives you a much fuller picture than headlines alone, and for him, none of the uncertainty has changed how strongly he feels about the life he has built in Albania.
