In real life I'm a voice actor and singer, but I used to be in IT for some 23 years.
In the years I have worked in IT, I didn't really have the drive to tinker with computers at home, but as soon as I quit my job... the hobby started coming back to me! On this channel, I will post irregular videos about computer-related stuff that interests me.
No generative-AI on this channel! Don't bother asking me to promote your gen-AI product, I won't.

Making my last video took more time than I had anticipated, as sharing games between Linux and Windows 11 turned out to be a pain again.
Previously, I had my games on an ext4-formatted partition and was able to run them from Windows using ext4fsd. However, that doesn't seem to work well anymore. It would only mount read-only, which is an issue when Steam wants to... you know... update a game?
So I had to move games around to another drive, to be able to run them on Windows. Great fun with the behemoths that are today's games.
The solution I found was simply formatting the drive as exFAT and create a bind-mount on Linux to make sure it wouldn't write anything on the drive that exFAT doesn't support.

Soooo after a BIOS update the €20 game pc suddenly booted to the Windows desktop like nothing ever happened. With the network card connected by the way!
I guess I could now check performance difference between Windows and Linux on this €20 beast! On vacation now though, so that'll take a few weeks before I can get started.
