Pakistani-American artist Salman Toor has been named to TIME Magazine’s inaugural TIME100 Art 2026 list, alongside other influential figures shaping the future of art.
Born in Lahore and now based in New York, Toor is known for his evocative paintings of young brown men experiencing moments of connection and isolation.
Since his breakthrough exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2020, his work has sold for more than $1 million at auction, toured four museums as part of a solo exhibition, and been featured at the Venice Biennale.
The recognition marks another milestone for Toor, who was previously named to TIME100 Next in 2021. His first solo European exhibition is also set to open at London’s Courtauld Gallery in October.
