Robbin Blanco

🇨🇦 Today is my birthday 🎂 and I want to give you this EP as a gift, a project that has crossed the barriers of time and distance.

I started this EP in 2018 with my great friends and musical brothers Sergio Aguilar and Kike Escalante. It faced many obstacles: illness, loss, moves, distance, pandemics, and because of that it remained frozen for a long time.

Sometimes life simply pushes you to do what you have to do, and eventually destiny finds a way to manifest itself.

I’m very happy at this stage of my life, where I can do what I love most with the people I care about, and you are an important part of this process: friends who listen, people who support, people around me, people I connect with, who contribute by listening, commenting, sharing, and giving their points of view.

I want to thank my family and everyone involved for their great support. I also want to thank all my musician friends who constantly inspire me, and my father, who is no longer here, but who I know, somehow, would be proud to read this.

A big hug, and let’s go 👊🎸

The second single from my EP is now out, once again alongside my dear and incredibly talented friends @kikeescalante and @sergioaguilarmx.

This time, we took on “Black Hole Sun” — a song with a completely different emotional depth. The goal was to rebuild it within a Power Trio format, preserving its atmosphere while pushing it into a darker, more expansive instrumental direction.

We focused on space, texture, and intensity — allowing each instrument to breathe while maintaining a strong collective identity.

This piece is especially meaningful to me — not only because of its powerful rhythmic energy and vibrant musical language, but also because the great Spanish composer Juan Erena had the kindness to dedicate this work to me.
It’s a piece full of motion, atmosphere, intensity, and imagination… and performing it was an amazing experience. 🎸✨

So happy to be able to record again with my dear brothers and super musicians @sergioaguilarmx and @kikeescalante in this beautiful @montana_studio_mx.
After several years we have been postponing this recording due to other jobs, complicated schedules, being parents, pandemic, moving, etc. It is very difficult, but it is so rewarding to be able to meet people in life who believe in your career.
I am sure that you will really like what we are doing because it comes from the heart.
Wanting is total power 👊 just don’t stop!
