The Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force's (CCHTTF) 16th annual Cook County Human Trafficking Conference is this month, from September 22–23, 2026, in Chicago, IL. AEquitas Attorney Advisors Jane Anderson and Lou Longithano will be presenting and leading the first-ever Law Enforcement/Prosecutor track for this conference: Anatomy of a Human Trafficking Prosecution.
This four-part training track for law enforcement and prosecutors provides a practical walkthrough of how to prepare and prosecute a human trafficking case from investigation through verdict. Using case studies and scenario-based discussion, presenters will examine each stage of the prosecution process, including charging decisions, pretrial litigation, witness preparation, and trial strategy. Multidisciplinary faculty will share practical strategies to strengthen victim participation, effectively present complex evidence, and maximize the use of expert testimony. Participants will explore common challenges and proven practices for building and trying complex human trafficking cases.
