Here's a question for you all: do you think that my videos having matching footage to what's being said is important?

I have pretty simple editing but try to align things with what I'm saying. This isn't just for the standard character kit overview, but for everything: for example, if I'm talking about Velina W-Engine and EX1-Hold EX on opener to cap out its effect early, I'll try to show exactly that being done. Same with a routing adjustments, or side-by-side Drive Disc damage comparisons, etc.

So do you think doing this has a meaningful impact on the video quality?

Allow me to sellout for a moment, as with the top-up reset coming to ZZZ, I'd like to remind everyone that my "LIN-0" code is up for the Epic Games Store (5% rebate on all spend).

Naturally unrelated to the above, I also happen to have a Surfshark VPN sponsorship, with the "lin" code: surfshark.com/influencer/lin?coupon=lin&utm_source…

And while editing videos is ridiculously time consuming, writing things up is less so. I always have concise/simplified guides (as much as I can be concise...) up on Mobalytics if anyone happens to be interested, pending character release: mobalytics.gg/zzz/builds/remielle-build-guide

All of the work I do for these guides/games is really a labour of love, since I don't get much income from content creation bar unexpected tournament winnings. I'm still tied to the 9-6 wageslave grind, and that's in large part why I'm so tardy with things.

That's not much of an excuse, and the shamelessness of coming in with a very unsubtle post of this kind when I've been missing the last 2 guides isn't lost on me, but I won't deny the financial incentive does make it all feel more worthwhile.

So if any of the above happens to be helpful to you, then I'd really appreciate if my codes/links are used!

By the way, when I say "days", I actually mean "weeks. I wasn't lying to you guys, I was just lying to myself, and that ended up filtering down...

Norma guide is still around - as before footage and script are good, but I've been a bit taken up with the AKEF and 3.1 stuff, so it's going to be like Vivian and come after her banner ends.

Thankfully Sigrid is coming soon which is a perfect excuse to get a Norma run in, so while I make no promises, having it come alongside Sigrid is probably a better time for it.

Also can we go one patch without getting a new Anomaly mechanic? I question if I'll even have Remielle's guide ready on release, but then again, out of the... 26? Character guides I've made, only 9 have been on time so it's par for the course.

As a "Lino" myself, I thought that the feminine variant of my name would be "Lina", but I guess "Liino" works too.

No choice but to roll for her, and thankfully it seems she's a ZFY buffing machine so it works perfectly.

Unfortunately Norma guide gonna be delayed - too many teams to test and I had to prep for the AKEF tourney (which we won first round at least!), so it'll come later.

I've got it all the footage/script/recording etc, but need to do the editing work so it'll come a few days late, but it's coming.

Heads up that I'll be participating on an Endfield CC tournament! First match will be July 8th 13:30 - 14:30 (UTC +8), with ‪@bluejayendfield‬ the goat as my teammate. I''m practically just a cheerleader on this team, but I'll do by best to try and pull off a decent clear in the matches. I'll be streaming the matches here on YT.

Looking forward to it, hope to see some of you guys then!

I had a proper Mi Fu guide that went into a lot more detail into her skills (grouping mechanics, Shield behaviour, how reactions work, etc.) but with Camille coming up, Norma and 3.1 ZZZ, I'll do the usual tehepero and give up on that one for the moment. Maybe one I'll get to complete when a re-run comes around...

We're back with another napkin math corner, this time to talk about Velina's Daze! Get some tea (or juice, given the summer heat), since this is gonna be a long one.

There's been a lot of people that seem to be disappointed with her Daze application.

Considering she's able to 3-stun Miasmic Fiend without either Disorder or Flinch bonuses, that feels impressive to me, but without some kind of weakness match (either from the main Anomaly Agent or Velina herself) it's going to be difficult if not outright impossible to 3-stun many of the recent fights, especially with so many enemies having unfriendly stalling mechanics.

This then masks how obscene her Daze truly is. She's not going to match an actual dedicated Stunner in Daze (well, kind of, when looking at Pulchra she can actually feel better lol), but still...

EDIT: A few changes to the math below to keep it more realistic.

Let's take Qingyi for example, who has a Base Impact of 136. With an S-Rank W-Engine (18%), D6 (18%), 2p Shockstar (6%), that's a x1.42 increase to 136 Base Impact, leaving her at 193.12.

Velina's got none of that, so she's stuck at 86 Impact.

Qingyi's EBA has a Rush Daze Multiplier of 408.3%, with a Finisher Daze Multiplier of 326.5%, so 734.8% total. Velina's Sweeping Cyclone is 1615.9% with Additional, but if casting it she gets 275.8% from the enhanced EX. If we do some napkin math:

Qingyi EBA: (4.08 + 3.26) * 193.12 = 1417.5
Velina Cyclone: (16.15 + 2.75) * 86 = 1625.4

Well dang, that's a lot more than Qingyi. Of course, there's Daze bonuses for Qingyi too: let's say 20% from her Additional and 6% from a KotS:

1417.5 * 1.26 = 1786

As it turns out, a full Qingyi EBA is not even 10% better than a Velina Sweeping Cyclone cast!

We can make this more favourable towards Qingyi though. Let's add in a 10% Combat Impact bonus from Hellfire Gear's EX effect.

193.12 * 1.1 = 212.432
((4.08 + 3.26) * 212.432) * 1.26 = 1964.7

That's a respectable 20% better than Velina now... with a full Qingyi EBA and having W-Engine buffs on top.

We're doing percentage increase here too, which makes it seem more favourable. If we were to do decrease, then Velina's is only "17% worse", even with all of this considered - around 83% of the value of a Qingyi EBA in ideal conditions.

We can still make it more favourable to Qingyi, like by adding on the 12.5% Daze *if* she has 100% Flash Connect Gauge. In practice this isn't common owing to her demanding 2 casts before every Stun, but bear with me.

((4.08 + 3.26) * 212.432) * (1.26 + 0.125) = 2159

That means a single enhanced EX into Sweeping Cyclone from Velina is only 25% worse than the absolute highest a Qingyi EBA would hit in a realistic set-up.

Imagine doing 3/4s of a fully charged, 100% Flash Connect Qingyi EBA, that's buffed by Hellfire Gears, just by casting a single Sweeping Cyclone on Velina? If at 75% Flash Connect, it'd be almost 5/6s instead.

Even if you were to remove the enhanced EX cast itself - leaving only the Sweeping Cyclone (1388.9) - that's almost 2/3s of the very same fully charged 100% Flash Connect EBA... passively. Without a single swap being needed, every 3 Anomalies inflicted.

If you want to run a 2-piece Shockstar on Velina, there's nothing stopping you either...

Of course, there's more to it than just that. Qingyi has her EX Specials, Assists and simply the regular Basics that build up her gauge, all of which contribute to Daze, whereas Velina's is coming primarily from these Sweeping Cyclone casts... but still gets plenty of value from the 454.3% + 773.7% Daze Multipliers of her EX1 + 2 and does so quickly, on top of barely needing to take to the field to deliver her value in this regard.

It's still jaw-dropping that this is a kind of comparison that can be made, because trying to draw these kind of numbers from something like Vivian (whose Featherblooms have 0% Daze Multipliers) wouldn't come remotely close.

The mental image that occasionally swapping out to Velina and casting a Sweeping Cyclone is close in Daze as a full Qingyi EBA string in optimal conditions (0 -> 20 with Qingyi vs 0 -> 15 with Velina...). Only to then have the automatic Cyclones be about on par with an off-field Qingyi EX Special in terms of Daze is wild.

The thing is that Velina's Daze has to be this high to even keep up with the old Disorder-based dual Anomaly teams. Every Disorder is a 290% Daze Multiplier, which can technically be triggered every 3 seconds, and that adds up.

On Physical teams, like Piper against Miasmic Fiend, Flinch increases Daze taken by 7.5%, which is a unique Multiplier and helped disguise Anomaly comps' general lack of Daze.

Wind loses all of this, so such a ridiculous level of Daze build is needed to actually be competitive. The fact Velina is not only keeping up, but easily beating out every other double Anomaly team in Daze application is - to me at least - pretty darn amazing.

It doesn't help that a lot of people's perceptions of Velina's Daze have been influenced by enemy thresholds. An enemy like Marionette has around 14327 in max Daze as a requirement on Deadly Assault. Fiend? 16647. 3.0 Boss?

Well I'll be damned, it's 21037.

That means that this boss has the highest Daze threshold out of any boss in the entire game! More than Defiler or Vesper!

No wonder it's so hard to 3-stun this with Velina, because guess what: a Sweeping Cyclone on Miasmic Fiend - a Wind neutral enemy - is a greater proportionate Daze build than the same on the 3.0 boss who is Wind weak!

8.34% vs 7.92% in fact.

Had it actually had the threshold of something like Miasmic Fiend or even Sweeper, Corruptive Barrier wouldn't matter for pushing 3-stuns on the 3.0 boss. The reason it's so difficult is because Velina is genuinely building "more Daze" on neutral enemies than on it.

Having Nangong as a comparison point, who has not only the highest Daze build in the entire game by a mile, but who also happens to be Ether and so runs well into most Anomaly bosses, doesn't help paint a flattering picture.

In truth though, for an Anomaly Agent, Velina's Daze is outstanding.

The selection of bosses I had to try in CES wasn't particularly diverse, but between 3-stunning the 3.0 boss, Scorched Horizon, Miasmic Fiend, Pompey and Marionette, she seems to be doing good in my books.

Well, that last boss isn't all that impressive (who knows, maybe some madman will manage a 4-stun Marionette with M1+ Velina on Shockstar 2-piece), but I don't think I'll ever have to re-live the moronic experience that was double Support 3-stun routes on Vesper, especially as it's now Wind weak.

I'm not ready to die on the hill that Velina does as much Daze a Stunner because... well, that's wrong, she doesn't.

I do, however, think that she can double up as one, taking the role of a pseudo-Stunner in dual (soon to be triple) Anomaly teams in much the same vein that Cissia does to Seed teams.

Neither are going to be doing Nangong or Dialyn level Daze (maybe even Pulchra level...), they aren't meant to, but I'll be damned if they don't have good Daze, because for what they offer, I think they absolutely do.

There appears to have been a change to the 3.0 boss from CES to release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGvTP...

The way the boss works is that at around 02:30-02:25 on the timer, it will queue its next action as the Corruptive Barrier summon.

If the boss is interrupted before it has the chance to activate Corruptive Barrier, it can do one of two things:

- Hop sideways/backwards and queue a series of attacks as actions (there's multiple patterns, some parriable some aren't - if you're behind him it will try to tail swipe instead for example).
- Attempt a Corruptive Barrier summon again.

If interrupted again, the cycle continues.

This behaviour is unchanged on release, but they've instead *increased the interrupt resistance of the Corruptive Barrier summon animation*. That makes the boss far, far more obnoxious to grind.

Before, this could be done on reaction. If you see the boss begin a Corruptive Barrier summon, use an Ultimate or Velina's enh EX to interrupt them, then wait and see what they do. If they go into Corruptive Barrier once more, interrupt it, else let it do its thing and wait until it starts casting Corruptive Barrier to do it all over again.

Now, this is a coinflip. Pray to whatever God you believe in that it goes into a different attack, because if it begins a Corruptive Barrier summon it's over. For most comps it's simply not possible to keep doing back-to-back interrupts, at some point you will need to let the boss do something different as it's too resource intensive otherwise.

Since it's no longer reactable, you'll now need to pick and choose when to wait. This means that what used to be a very consistent routing for post-1st Stun Corruptive Barrier (I could easily do it in the majority of runs, if anything the RNG was whether the boss would insta Corruptive Barrier after 1st stun instead) now rides on pure luck.

I actually quite enjoyed this boss because you could (mostly) work around the RNG with skill and proper routing, but now that pre-1st stun phase is genuine hell to grind. This is especially bad if you're pushing for 170% or 180% Stun DMG Multipliers, as it often demands a late Velina Ultimate to get multiple Windswepts back-to-back.

The routing is still the same, so the actual score ceiling isn't any different, it's just that luck plays a much bigger factor than before.
