Our 4th Physical Quarterly General Meeting, held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, brought district members together once again — and it was nothing short of impactful.
The meeting was held under the leadership of our Chairman, Chief (Mrs.) Omokemi O. Oladipo, FCA, and ably hosted by our Technical Secretary and Technical Committee Chairman, Mr. Damilola Osuntubo, ACA.
The session featured a timely health talk on Diabetes Awareness delivered by ADN. Moronke O. Oniye, free BP and blood sugar tests for attendees, as well as joyful moments of welcoming new members and celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries
We were also excited to officially launch the 2nd Edition of the Lagelu Newsletter — a fresh new way to keep our members informed and inspired.

A delegation from the ICAN Lagelu & District Society paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ghaffar Bello, FCA, at the Secretariat, Ibadan.
In his remarks, Alhaji Bello commended the leadership of the District for its rapid growth and strategic initiatives. He shared ongoing efforts by the Oyo State Government to harmonise its revenue collection systems, enhance taxpayer compliance, and strengthen transparency and fiscal discipline. He further revealed plans to engage the Lagelu District Society in the state’s budget formulation process.
The District’s Pioneer Chairman, Chief (Mrs.) Omokemi O. Oladipo, FCA, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and acknowledged the support received from the Executive Assistant, especially during the District’s investiture ceremony. She also shared updates on the District’s expanding membership, training initiatives, and partnerships with key institutions.
The meeting was engaging and productive, marking another step forward in fostering collaboration between ICAN Lagelu & District Society and the Oyo State Government in the areas of public finance, accountability, and sustainable development.

On Thursday, 3rd July 2025, a distinguished delegation from the ICAN Lagelu & District Society paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Rector of Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr. Lasisi Taiwo Abideen.
The Acting Rector warmly received the team and expressed his appreciation for the visit. In her address, the Pioneer Chairman of the District, Chief (Mrs.) Omokemi O. Oladipo, FCA, expressed gratitude to the Rector and his management team for their hospitality. She highlighted potential areas of collaboration between the Polytechnic and the District Society, including internship and mentorship opportunities for students, participation in journal and research writing, access to the ICAN e-Library resources, capacity-building and training programs.
The visit was both engaging and impactful, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration between ICAN Lagelu & District Society and Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic.

The Pioneer Chairman of ICAN Lagelu and District Society, Chief (Mrs) Omokemi Oladipo, FCA, led a delegation of distinguished leaders and elders on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Fresh FM radio station, Dr. Olayinka Joel Ayefele MON, at his Ayefele Music House in Challenge, Ibadan on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
The visiting team included Pa. A. A. Elujoba, FCA, Dr. (Prince) Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA, and the District Vice-Chairman, Mr. Patterson Ariemuduigho, FCA. Elder Marcus Akobi, FCA, a Senior Partner at Baker Tilly, was also present during the meeting.
The reception for the delegation was warm and welcoming. Dr. Yinka Ayefele MON was lauded for his valuable contributions to the nation's economy, especially in the creation of employment opportunities. The positive impact of his music career was also acknowledged and praised.
During the visit, the District Chairman highlighted the esteemed leadership profile of the District and discussed potential collaborations and partnerships with Dr. Yinka Ayefele for the advancement of the community and the nation as a whole.

In a progressive engagement, the District Chairman of ICAN Lagelu & District Society, Chief Mrs. Omokemi Olufunke Oladipo, FCA, led a distinguished delegation on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, at the Oyo State Secretariat.
The Honourable Commissioner welcomed the team graciously, as both parties engaged in meaningful discussions on opportunities for collaboration, professional exchange, and strategic alignment between the Ministry and the District.
