Deep in the countryside I set out on a mission to track down the abandoned Hathazari Air Base ruins and walk the old runway at Feni Airfield—once used by Allied bombers flying missions against Japanese forces in Burma during World War II.
Most people have no idea these places even exist. Today, nature has reclaimed much of these historic sites, making them one of Bangladesh’s most overlooked pieces of history that deserves way more attention than what it gets at the moment.

Let me introduce you to Bangladesh’s most volatile conflict region: The Chittagong Hill Tracts. Home to militant rebel groups, breathtaking nature and warm hearted people.
The military presence was everywhere, but the number of selfies I took with soldiers was even higher🙂↕️
