We were delighted to get tickets to see the Bayeux Tapestry in the first few days of its London opening. We queued online for 4 hours and had 15000 people in front of us when we booked, so I think we were super lucky.

Tonight we share our visit to see the famous Tapestry, breaking down each embroidered scene panel by panel. If you have ever wanted to follow along with the Bayeux Tapestry without getting lost in Latin inscriptions, this walk-through reveals exactly what King Harold and Duke William were up to. Seeing the Bayeux Tapestry up close lets you witness eleventh-century drama as medieval audiences did.

Every section reveals lively details, from fleet preparations across the Channel to the fierce clash on Senlac Hill. Seeing this extraordinary masterpiece in London offers a rare chance to study the craftsmanship of early English embroiderers without travelling to Normandy.

It is unmatched visual storytelling, giving us our clearest surviving window into the arms, armour, and naval vessels of the eleventh century.

We thought it would also be fun to step out of the Tapestry and visit some of the locations depicted in the Tapestry, so in part 2 (next week), we head to Senlac Hill in search of the very spot King Harold is said to have taken the arrow and died. Join us on the battlefield and in the charming town of Battle in East Sussex.

Part 3 will be on the coast at Hastings, the place where Duke William set up the very first Norman motte-and-bailey castle before his army advanced to Battle. We'll see the castle and explore this lovely seaside town.

We were invited to the Palace! 😍🏰

Okay, so maybe not Buckingham Palace, but a very close second: Blenheim Palace!

Back in July, the palace team invited us down to showcase the incredible history, architecture, and breathtaking gardens. It had been years since our last visit (before channel), and it was fantastic to return just as their massive £12 million restoration project was nearing completion. (Now complete since our visit)

The day didn't start off smoothly—Will was feeling under the weather, so he stayed behind the camera, but he powered through all day to help capture every angle!

And what a full day it was. We arrived at 10 AM, right as the gates opened, and didn't leave until 5 PM, when they were locking up. It’s impossible to see everything in a single day, but we gave it everything—we even forfeited the special afternoon tea the palace kindly laid on for us just to make sure we didn't miss a single shot for you!

Tonight’s episode is a 1-hour special, and while we don’t often blow our own trumpets, we truly think this is one of our best stately home videos yet.

Tonight, we bring you the last of our adventures in Scotland for now!
If you are thinking about visiting a Scottish castle, you cannot pick a more picturesque and historic spot than Inveraray Castle and the town. Nestled along the tranquil waters of Loch Fyne, this castle gives you the chance to tour both a grand baronial fortress of Clan Campbell and a gorgeous Georgian town in one day. It really surprised me, as I was not expecting the town as well.

Inveraray Castle serves as the seat of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of Clan Campbell. Founded in the mid-18th century to replace an earlier fortress, the castle combines striking Gothic Revival architecture with exquisite neoclassical interiors.
Gaze up at the lofty ceiling of the central hall, adorned with muskets, broadswords, and Lochaber axes arranged in stunning circular wall patterns.

Established alongside the castle rebuild in the 1770s, the town of Inveraray features whitewashed waterfront buildings, charming independent shops, and the famous Inveraray Jail museum.

Stroll from the town harbour through the estate gardens, or climb up to the Dun Na Cuaiche watchtower for panoramic views over Loch Fyne and the surrounding hills.

Don't Skip - Stay Over

In tonight's video, we'll find out that Oban is an incredible destination packed with heritage, scenery, and flavour. Known worldwide as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, it offers so much more than a transit hub for island-bound travellers.
Long before it became a bustling coastal hub, the area around the bay was home to ancient clans and early settlers. Overlooking the water sits Dunollie Castle, the historic stronghold of Clan MacDougall. High above the town, the striking 19th-century McCaig’s Tower dominates the skyline—built out of local granite to provide work for stonemasons and model the Roman Colosseum.
Down in the centre, you'll find the historic Oban Distillery, established in 1794, which helped shape the town as it grew around the harbour.

Today we are taking a trip to Scotland's tranquil Inner Hebrides to discover the magic of the Isle of Iona. Known for centuries as a place of peaceful reflection, the Isle holds a quiet, magnetic pull for visitors across the globe. Whether you are drawn by ancient ruins or dramatic coastal views, visiting the Isle of Iona is a travel memory you will never forget!

In AD 563, Saint Columba arrived on these shores from Ireland with twelve companions, establishing a monastery that quickly grew into one of Western Europe's most influential religious centres. It was here that monks created incredible artistic works, including early portions of the famed Book of Kells. For centuries, kings of Scotland, Ireland, and Norway sought their final resting place in Iona's ground. Today, the standing high crosses and restored medieval abbey stand as quiet witnesses to over fourteen centuries of faith and art.

Come along with us as we uncover the wild beauty and rich past of the Isle of Mull!

Starting the trip with some amazing drives across the island takes us past roaring waterfalls and rugged landscapes. Along the way, you can stop off at honesty boxes filled with homemade treats left out by local residents.

Further down the coast sits colourful Tobermory, a town originally founded back in 1788 by the British Fisheries Society as a busy fishing port. Those brightly painted buildings you see today hide centuries of maritime heritage.

Driving out toward the western shores brings us to Calgary Beach, a stunning stretch of white sand where local history stretches back generations. Then, we head over to Duart Castle, a 13th-century fortress that serves as the historic seat of Clan MacLean. This stronghold survived dramatic sieges and sat as a crumbling ruin for over two centuries before being lovingly brought back to life by the clan.

A Travel Day to Remember! ✈️🚗⛴️ Tonight at 7pm BST

Good day, all! It’s time for us to travel from the Orkney Islands to the west coast of Scotland for the second part of our series.

Usually, our journey between destinations is just a small snippet of the video, but this time was completely different. In a single day, we were flying, driving, and sailing—and it featured some of the most spectacular scenery of our entire trip. What we thought would be a "dead" travel day turned out to be a major highlight!

Flying at low altitude from Kirkwall to Glasgow under clear blue skies gave us incredible aerial views of mainland Scotland, including Loch Ness and Loch Lomond. Just an hour after landing, we were driving the very same roads around Loch Lomond we’d just seen from above! Arriving in Oban, we grabbed a quick drink and stocked up on supplies before catching the evening ferry to the Isle of Mull for a gorgeous sunset sailaway. The final leg? Navigating Mull’s winding, rugged single-track roads to reach our cosy cabin.

All of this sets us up for an amazing 3-night stay on the Isle of Mull, where we'll show you our favourite highlights and take a trip to Iona—the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. ( Over two videos from next Friday).

It's time to move on!
Our last video from the Orkney Islands tonight.

If you are looking for a beautiful coastal escape, a walk around Stromness is exactly what you need. This historic stone town is packed with maritime character, and taking time to see Stromness on foot reveals its secrets. When you wander the streets, you are walking right through centuries of seafaring heritage.

This charming port grew substantially during the 17th and 18th centuries due to the wars with France, which forced ships to bypass the English Channel and head north around Scotland. It became a famous final stop for European vessels heading west. The Hudson's Bay Company regularly recruited local Orcadian workers here, and legendary ships—including Captain Cook’s Discovery and Resolution—docked in these very waters.

The magic of this place lies in its layout. The single main street winds and twists alongside the shoreline, flanked by narrow stone lanes and houses built gable-end to the sea. Wander down the tiny side alleys to discover hidden slipways where fishing boats once unloaded their catch directly into the cellars.

Join us as we explore a town we felt was more charming than Kirkwall and reminded us a lot of Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire.
