I work as a full time videographer, DP and director. Aside from my commercial work, I am an aspiring filmmaker and storyteller based in the Richmond Virginia and DMV area.
On my channel I focus on the real world situations of a small business owner working cameras, and my creative endeavors in making movies.
My equipment reviews are only of gear I have used on a job. I aim to bring authenticity to the content I present with the goal of helping us all succeed in our creative and professional goals.

My strobes (on camera and off) are Profoto, they apparently do not work with the new hot shoe connection on the R6V. According to rumors Nikon is looking at buying Profoto. It’s no secret they are partnered up. I know I’m not switching camera brands, so Godox may be in my kit soon.

The Canon R6V has provided me a little more peace of mind over the C50 for jobs where I know I’ll be making content for social media (high end or relatable content)
I’m also interested to push this camera in cinema projects.

Current cameras and their commercial purpose. For creating art (portraits/creative videos) I’d have to go with the R5ii and the C70. For making money/client work the C400/R6V is where it’s at.

Sold the work van today. I worked out a situation where I rent from a commercial fleet for jobs that require it rather than take on the responsibility of maintaining my own vehicle. This may not be the best solution for everyone but for me with a focus on streamlining my workflow as a director and DP I think it makes sense. It was a great 2 years with it.

The C400 falls in a category of its own. It can be rigged for cinema and a crew, solo operation on a travel or documentary film, or even used for content creation. The auto focus and triple base iso make it a very versatile tool. 🎬
