Channel 37 is an archive featuring local TV nostalgia from the age of Beta and VHS.
The material on Channel 37 is sourced mainly from my own personal tape collection, in addition to various thrift store, garage sale, and flea market finds.
THIS CHANNEL DOES NOT TAKE REQUESTS. Please do not ask me to upload specific items—I have a full-time job and operate Channel 37 as a hobby; as such, I can only dedicate a limited amount of time (and money) to sourcing, editing, researching, and producing content for the channel. Additionally, I can't produce content that I don't have.
While I make an effort to provide the correct dates and other information, I can sometimes get things wrong. If you find an inaccuracy, please feel free to leave a comment on the specific video with the correct information and I will verify and update the description.
Channel 37
As Channel 37 prepares to return to semi-regular posting, I want to make one part of the archive’s policy explicit:
No AI-generated or AI-enhanced material will ever be used on Channel 37.
That includes AI upscaling, frame interpolation, image reconstruction, generated audio, or any other attempt to “improve” what was originally recorded.
Likewise, Channel 37 will remain standard definition at 30 frames per second. I have no interest in remastering these recordings into something they never were. Tape noise, analog softness, interlacing, imperfect color, and the other artifacts of the original recording are part of the artifact itself.
The only changes made to video presented here will be minor color and level adjustments when necessary, along with the addition of the Channel 37 bug. Beyond that, the material is left alone.
The goal of Channel 37 has always been preservation, not restoration. If a commercial break was recorded from television onto VHS in 1986, I want you to see the commercial break as it aired and as it was recorded onto VHS in 1986.
It is presented as it aired and as it was recorded. The absence of alteration is part of the editorial philosophy.

Channel 37
A couple of brief channel announcements:
First off, Channel 37 now has merch! The new store is live and I'm proud to introduce the first collection: a salute to Technical Difficulties, featuring recreations of trouble slides from Tokyo, New York, Chicago, and Orlando! These shirts, plus Channel 37 logo gear are available now at shop.channel37.tv.
Second, Channel 37 has joined TikTok! I'm posting select commercials and promos from the collection every day, just look for and follow @channel37tv! (Note: like the main YouTube channel, I also don't take requests on TikTok)
Finally, you may have noticed that it's been a while since I've had regular weekly uploads. Due to various circumstances, I've been on a semi-hiatus for the past couple of years, but I'm happy to announce that I'll be returning to a regular posting schedule soon (new content every Friday.) I don't have all the details ironed out yet, but I'm looking to get back up and running by September. Thanks for your patience during this time!
