So… a few things.

For start, the effects are looking much more polished this time around. I love the way the original movie looks, but it’s held back by some of its limitations that they seem to be improving on in the sequel!

A lot of the characters are gonna be coming back, not just the leads, which is nice. If I had to guess, I’d say a lot of what this movie has to offer as far as character will go to this newer character Ms. Aoyoma, maybe about her creating a monster she didn’t intend to (?)

The scale looks much larger this time around, instead of it being an independent group of veterans fighting for themselves, it may be the entirety of the Japanese military…
Maybe leading to a messier result…

Weird thing to harken on, but the trailer is well edited. Especially the final shot before the title reveal is just excellent.

The slight redesign for Gojira is looking more and more promising as well!

Fingers crossed, the story delivers just as the first movie did. My favorite Godzilla film deserves a worthy sequel, so we’ll have to wait see!
