When producing the song, Brian arranged fragments of each recording into one track, resulting in a “pocket symphony” due to its new innovations in instrumentation. It’s now considered as one of the first progressive pop songs in history and one of the greatest rock songs ever made.

Happy anniversary to our first studio record, ‘Surfin’ Safari!’
The album was recorded in the basement of Capitol Records, where we wrote and produced some of our very first songs. The song “Surfin’” is now credited with the beginnings of the California Sound genre.
