What sounds spiritual can sometimes actually be emotional avoidance...
Spiritual bypassing is using spiritual language or practices to avoid feeling something instead of actually processing it.
I used almost every phrase in this carousel on myself for years. Not because I was trying to dismiss my pain, but because I genuinely thought that's what a strong Christian did.
Nobody ever taught me that God wanted me to feel things with Him, not skip past them to be "a better Christian".
The shift for me wasn't giving up my faith or these truths. It was learning that grief, anxiety, exhaustion can coincide with prayer and faith instead of getting erased by them.
If any of these sound familiar, said to you or said by you to yourself, you're not doing faith wrong. You just might be doing what everyone around you modeled.
I have two more 1:1 coaching call spots left this month. If you're a neurodivergent woman ready to actually process instead of bypass comment "READY" for one of those spots!

Can psychology and Christianity co-exist? Is the Christian thing to do rebuking mental health disorders and just having more faith? Can we take medication or does that mean we're not trusting in God enough? If you've ever wondered about these questions or desire to listen to these conversations among experts, you'll love this symposium.
A few months ago, the Christian Mental Health Institute asked me to be a part of their Expert & Faith Leader Panel. I’m so honored and excited for the opportunity!
As a neurodivergent Christian who's currently experiencing severe autistic and ADHD burnout, I think it's even more vital to talk about what faith looks like when battling mental health struggles.
Join us as we dive into the intersection of psychology and faith and how the church can practically love on brothers and sisters struggling with mental health disorders. Let’s break the stigma together 💪
